This is truly the last Patricia Cornwell book I am going to read. First of all, I am an ative duty member of a uniformed service and I certainly hope that nobody who reads this book gets a bad impression of soldiers or sailors....the overwhelming majority of us hate war, hate killing, hate death, hate suffering and hate prejudice (including the prejudice against us). The comments she makes in the book about the war and particularly the Air Force are extremely uneducated to the point of almost being laughable if they weren't so disrespectful. However, as an American, she is entitled to speak her mind and I have to accept that, but there is NOTHING redeeming about this book. Lean Mean Thirteen was just as fun as the previous 12 in this Janet Evanovich series. It truly is entertaining. Lots of fun to read. What could possibly happen next to Stephanie Plum?!

These books by McCall Smith are those that I read when the world gets me down. I love Mme Ramotswe, her ability to find the good in people and positive in situations. She loves her country (Botswana), her husband, and her children. As a "traditional" woman, she is unfettered by her bulk, enjoying the bright patterns of her native land. Although the plots are often skimpy, the people are delightful, and I love reading about an African nation that has a democratic government and healthy children.

Iris Johansen's Quicksand promised to be an intriguing story of suspense, murder, and the desperate search for missing children. Due to the fact that I was acquainted to most of the characters through previous novels, I looked forward to this one. Especially the long asked question "What happened to Bonnie?" - Eve Duncan's daughter whose disappearance and alleged murder years ago doesn't allow Eve to live a peaceful life, woke my curiosity greatly. Together with ex- Navy SEAL and partner Joe Quinn, she again gets sent into a labyrinth of false trails and dead ends; just to bring Bonnie home. And that's were my dilemma starts. my first picoult book was my sisters keeper, i loved it and immediately wanted to buy all of picoults books. i happened to get this one next and it's one of the worst books i have ever read. yet, i've kept with it, reading more than 1/2 and it's so bad and boring and unbelievable that i've put it down for the last time and plan to return it tomorrow. i've never returned a partially read book, but i don't want to support such junk. really disappointed.

I really enjoyed the books. The author has a down to earth sense of humor and tells a good story.

The characters in this series are well developed, but they seem not to be growing in strength are doing "new" things. This is an easy read and the outcome is easy to predict. I have enjoyed this series, but this one is the least favorite of them. I look forward to the next to see how the relationships develop - maybe marriage would strengthen the relationships in the book?

I got this book after reading the many good reviews, but I have to say I was a little disappointed with it. I was more than halfway thru the book and all I could think was "when is something going to happen?" It's an okay story, but just too slow and repetitive to keep you hooked. I like to read a book I can't stand to put down -- this definitely wasn't one, in my opinion.

Visions of Sugar Plums takes place a few days before Christmas. Stephie Plum hasn't bought presents, sent Christmas cards or put up a tree. She's determine to find Sandy Claws , who skipped a court appearnace. Someone could still enjoy the story even if they hadn't read the other novels.Stephanie's family play a major role in the story and Joe Morrelli , Stephanie's boyfriend makes brief appearnces. It is a fun story to read before Christmas and it is short. Some funny scences include Stephanie being attacked by elves , Grandma Mazur's missing fake teeth, etc. There is a supernatural element to the story which is never completly explained , but it doesn't matter. Everthing comes together at the end. I meant to give it 3 stars not two.
