My daughter is in a wonderful advanced Christian school. She needed a large/extra large print Bible for Chapel, because she is in the 1st grade. After ordering the wrong one, (to small) and the beginning of school looming Amazon came to the rescue. Thanks so much Amazon

I read Scruples when it first came out. It seemed to create something of a literary sensation, as I recall, having the sex scenes associated with romance literature but also having a multitude of important characters. So, I hadn't read it since 1978 and got it out of the library yesterday morning. Spent most of the day reading it, exploding with irritation about it, then settling down and moving on. Why explode with irritation? Well, first of all, the book is completely packed with product placement. I don't even recall if "product placement" was a term in use in 1978. The Book: Not a Hillary (or Clinton) bashing book at all - very fair. Its a well written, well researched compilation of the life and political career of HRC. They left nothing out. I even printed a Clinton White House time-line just to keep up with some of the chapters that jumped around a bit. I learned allot about today's politics in Washington. How polititicians constantly position themselves on the issues in order to remain in good standing with their constituents and keep their jobs. The book makes it clear that the Clintons (especially Hillary) do this more profoundly then anyone one else. They have crafted it into an art form consisting of lying, telling half-truths, only taking partial responsibility (if any at all) on things gone wrong, blaming others, etc. Yet ... Read More

This dictionary is beautifully legible. However, there are no children in our household. We are just two Scrabble-playing, college-educated adults, and most of the words we look up in the "Oxford American Large Print Dictionary" are not there. Based on the "Oxford American Minidictionary," 2004, this large-print edition offers no etymologies, nor does it distinguish between transitive and intransitive verbs.

The book is great. The CD-Rom is an exercise in frustration. That you can only install it on a single computer is the first frustration. Then I tried to print a section for use in the shop. The pages that came out on the printer were not the pages that I requested (error between displayed and actual page numbers?). When I tried to print again, it said I had exceeded the printing limit.

This book is chock-full of characters that are unbelievably stupid. So stupid and so unbelievable that you don't care what happens to them. In fact, it's annoying that they exist. It might be well-written, but who cares?
