Lexi suffers from amnesia after a car accident, which has her forget the past 3 years of her life. As a result, she has no recollection of the man she married, the promotion in her job, the fallout with her best friends, etc. She tries to carry on with everyone as if it was 3 years earlier, but in fact, it isn't. In the midst of all that, Jon is claiming they were having an affair and are deeply in love, while Lexi swears she would never do such a thing. As the story progresses, she uncovers that her husband Eric isn't all he's cracked up to be, and Jon might have some validity to his claim. While a situation like this would be devastating, Kinsella approaches the subject with humor, as she always does, leaving Lexi to pick up the pieces and mend relationships she had broken before the accident ... Books : Nights in Rodanthe
I have to say the beginning of this book gave me a big warning that the writing was going to be very elementary and to top it all of a sappy love story. I like love stories which is why I picked this book up, but the writing was horrible! I can't believe this is a best selling author. I remember a few year back I read the notebook and a walk to remember and I at least liked those. I was disappointed and I wish he would have done a better job selling the reader this story.

17.Blood Brothers (Sign of Seven) by: Nora Roberts

Books : Blood Brothers (Sign of Seven)
I am Nora Roberts' biggest fan. Period. Bought everything I could get my hands on. Read and re-read all her greats many, many times. BUT...I couldn't even finish this one. After about 60 pages, I put it down. I was bored, a condition I thought I would never experience with a Nora Roberts' book. Found myself skimming pages. If she would get back to GREAT romance writing, like the "Born In" series (the best!) or the Quinn Brothers series...wow...wouldn't that would be awesome? If she wants to write this "dark" stuff, fine--get another pen name and do it. But don't disappoint those of us who love the GREAT romances she's written. I would NOT recommend this series.

When I first started to read this book, I said to my self, "this is just like another one of her books." I kept reading and the more I read the more I enjoyed it. This is one of her better books, she hit just about every subject imaginable, from death, to marrying a gay man to working in a war zone, to going to med school, being raped and coming around full circle to love again. I would recommend this book

For being a short book it was very good. This book is a modern day stone creek book. The main characters are Olivia and Tanner. Olivia is brad's sister from the book McKettrick's Way. Olivia is a vet and has a Dr. Doolittle routine. Tanner is a builder and a widower. He has a daughter who wants to come home and stay with him instead of boarding school but he is too scared something will happen to her. His wife was killed overseas and he believes it was targeted at him. The book was a very fast read. Olivia and Tanner fall for each other early on. As each one learns to believe in the miracles and traditions of Christmas. If you are a fan of the McKettrick series you will want to read this book.

Yes, it is obvious that it hasn't been edited but that doesn't detract from the beauty. Language is wound like ribbons, outlining the pictures of the characters, framing them and revealing them slowly.

The desperation, fear and transient nature of the characters fall off the page, revealing a landscape littered with the machinations of war. Characters come alive in mere fragments of sentences, the nature of war evident on every page, filling the reader with an intense feeling of dread and discomfort.

The writing is gifted, delicious and terrific. Not to be missed.
