this is a realy good book if you keep on reading. it its a bit hard to understand at first but if you keep reading it all comes together its realy good and i dont read alot but if you give it a chance you will like it.

I am a fan of Harlan Coben but have never read this particular series. In contrast to the majority of reviews, I found this to be tedious rather than witty and in need of additional editing. Lame, forced dialog on top of a silly plot...even taking it for what it is, there are better ways to spend one's time.

I loved the book. Harlan Coben is one of the best author's of this genre.

This is my first book by this author, and I enjoyed it very much. It's the story of Will Klein, a social worker in Manhattan whose life changed 11 years ago when his brother was accused of killing Will's ex-girlfriend. The story begins when Will's mother, dying of cancer, tells him that his brother (who's been missing and presumed dead for those 11 years), is alive. Shortly afterward, Will's soulmate disappears and is implicated in a double homicide in another state. The story is interesting and filled with lots of plot twists and fascinating characters. If there was any fault it was in the too goody-goody narrative voice, but that naivete was important to the story, and I would happily read another book by this author.

Harlan Coben's series starring Myron Bolitar are must read books. This book, "The Woods," is not worth your time. No, it's not a terrible read, but it is far from Coben's best. In this mystery/thriller, Paul Copeland is a big time district attorney who is still grieving about a camp that he helped out with while in high school. His sister and a few others were brutally killed at the camp....or were they? Skip ahead twenty years. Copeland is a widowder with a young daughter. His life is not bad, but he still wonders about what happened at the camp out in those woods. The plots are everywhere as Copeland deals with a rape case involving an call girl and a fraternity house along with another political issue about his wife's foundation that raises money for cancer research. I have only recently started reading Harlan Corben(s) books, and this is the second of the Myron Bolitar searies. Fun tongue-n-cheek writing, with great twists. I liked "Promise Me" better. When stumped for a good page turner to buy, Mr. Corben is on my best bet list, along with Joseph Finder, Peter Straub, Richard Preston and of course Stephen King.

another good coben novel.....I can't wait to read them all, we pass them around in the office.

We are very fond of Harlen Coben books so when I found this one in audio format I jumped at it. It did not disappoint. The story kept us entertained from Sacramento CA to Portland Or. We both love golf and this has its setting in the world of professional golf. Lots of characters and a surprising plot twist at the end. We would recommend it highly.

I have read most of Harlan's other books, but this was my first Myron Bolitar one. I decided to start from the beginning. What a great series! I love Myron, Win, and their great humor. I am also a huge sports fan so the character of sports agent is great too. I would say that Myron Bolitar books are just as good as Coben's other books, but they have a less somber/serious mood. Myron and Win keep it more fun, but the mysteries are just as great. I can't wait to read the rest of them!
