As with most books like this, a great deal of the content is common sense. But as is always the case with me, formalizing it and explaining it is always what I need.

He explains the natural thought process of a project in order to help you get a grasp of what things need to be done in order to achieve your outstanding goals.

He explains why you can't ever relax because you have so much to do, and how to get over that stress so that you can relax during those times you want to relax!

He gives you a system, which you can use as-is or tailor to your personal taste, that essentially guarantees that nothing gets lost, everything gets done and puts you in control.

I know it sounds like an ad, but as I started with, the content is true and makes ... Read More

Hands down, this is THE worst-written book of any kind, ever. My brain totally objects to reading sentences such as, "The project manager will have to be careful that the project manager does not make mistakes that will make it difficult for the project manager to manage the project." Think I'm kidding -- hey, no one could make this stuff up. After reading three or four sentences in a row like this, I was ready to fall off my chair, or else go beat my head against the wall. And who came up with the title: "Book of Knowledge". Sounds almost religious, or else like something they'd come up with in a Star Trek movie. Sheesh. Get it because you have to, but get thee -- quick -- to additional guides to help yourself pass the PMP exam.

Typically I don't buy many books-- we have a good local library, so I buy only those that are 1) very interesting and 2) worth referring to later. This book is both. It is marketed as a book that shows how to develop business presentations by drawing the charts in front of the audience rather than relying on pre-made PowerPoint slides. Anyone, however, who needs to learn how to display data to convince others (data visualization) will find this book useful.

The good: it is an easy and fast read, with little jargon, and with good explanations of the various ways to display data. The chapter, "Frameworks For Showing," alone makes the book worthwhile to purchase. When do you use a timeline, or a flowchart, or a multivariable plot? This chapter explains all.

The bad: the drawings, ... Read More

This book was recommended to me by a friend who is a consultant. It is an amazing read. It really helps you understand that while some conversations are difficult to have, most are crucial and should not be avoided. It gives you real tips and tools as well as an index for quick reference in the back of the book if you are looking to find something quickly after you've read it.

Highly recommend this book if you are interested in learning more about the dynamics of important conversation.

I wasn't about to read the book at all until my Proffesor demanded his students to do the assignment to read and write 10 great ideas about the containts of the book. I found a lot of examples the author uses to imply a negotiation in our life, and especially on business. I haven't finished reading it but planned to do it.

Phenomenal!!!

"The Answer, Grow Any Business, Achieve Financial Freedom, & Live an Extraordinary Life' by John Assaraf & Murray Smith is an impressive book about money, success, & happiness, written by a featured teacher of 'The Secret' along with his co-author who has created multi-million dollar companies.

This book answers many important questions that you may have about creating a successful business, especially the question of paramount importance 'how am I going to make money in my business?'

I won this book in a lottery and it was on my bookshelf for several years. I thought it would be one of those repetitive bestsellers about management and leadership, so common in this genre. Belonging to this genre, this book could not escape its being repetitive, but the content far outweighed this minor flaw. It was mainly about systemic thinking or systems theory, which is the 5th discipline. I had read about systemic thinking (in a text book by Adalberto Chiavenato), but very superficially. He only made the reference that the organizations are systems similar to living organisms, in the sense that they interact with their environment.

In this book you can find the main structures of systems that scientists have discovered, exemplified with good metaphors and helpful drawings and diagrams:
