This was my first yaoi purchase pretty much ever, so I was a little nervous about what I was getting. Was it hardcore and no plot or softcore with a heavy plot? I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice balance between the two when I opened the cover of "Crimson Spell." Ayano Yamane has a gift when it comes to drawing gorgeous men, especially so in the case of Prince Vald (earlier versions print his name as "Bald," but I believe this has since been corrected) and Halvir the wizard, or Havi, for short. The plot is simplistic at first, deepening as the two men find themselves growing closer and closer, though not ithe way one expects. This is a must read for all yaoi fans! The artwork is beautiful, and the main storyline is fresh, not canned. The men are beautiful looking, while still not looking too feminine. The storyline is straightforward and sweet, and the love scenes are graphically artistic, although not pornographic. What I love most about this manga is how humor and romance are perfectally balanced and interwoven into the storyline. This is a happy romance yaoi novel. If you like a lot of angst and drama, this may not be your favorite book, but you should STILL READ IT ANYWAY! :)

Like the other volumes, this one is filled with Mizuki and Azuma having a good time together. Mizuki is still trying to "resist" Azuma but if you've read the other volumes you know what happens and happens often. The one story described about the tutor doesn't exactly go as said. Mizuki's sister does get him tutor but mostly because she feels bad for Azuma, who needs to study too. It too bad that this is the last volume. It would have been nice if the mangaka had more of Azuma and Mizuki's relationship, maybe even Muziki saying the three words to Azuma that most people want to hear.

I wouldn't even give it away, no yaoi fan should be subjected to this tripe. Why did I hate it so? The uke was likeable enough, but the seme was emotionally abusive. He rapes the uke, then pursues him like a stalker, getting angry if he even smiles at others. Eventually he passionately professes his love--and then the next day he casually sleeps with a 14 year old. When the uke confronts him about this, not only is he not ashamed about it, he laughs in his face! To begin, the book itself is not very thick (about 174 pages). Seeing that it is apart of a longer series (at least 3+ vols), it would have been nice to get more substance for my retail price of $[...] (+tax). The pages are an odd shade of white-yellow, but still acceptable. The inking is very well done. As for the plot - well that is a bit more difficult to describe. The central idea that Fujimaru and his family move into his grandfather's old home. At this home, Fujimaru ends up releasing an incubus that has been confined within the home the past 50 years. How does he release it? Well, Fujimaru enjoys his "alone time" in the bathroom and this bring the demon out of his slumber. Junjo Romantica is never disappointing. The best cast of characters I've seen in a manga lately. Quirky, fun and serious at times. Misaki has gotten himself into some amusing trouble this time around. Miyagi finally meets his match in the adorable "terrorist" Shinobu and will have to face his past in an cliff hanger ending that is leaving me wishing volume 7 would get here faster! Nowaki and Hiro continue to be adorable as always. This series really has it all and I can't recommend it enough. Sweet, sexy and funny. Buy it now.

I won't get into how the story goes since there's a definition above, so lets just get onto the review! To be honest, what truly first caught my attention from this book is the cover. Very yummy, right? Usually when a book has such great artwork on the cover, the inside art is only so-so. Let me tell you, it's good! The art is really well done compared to others I've seen. (I must admit it's not -as good- as the cover though). The smex scenes (for those who truly enjoy those like myself) are well done! Very smexy. This volume continues from near the end of the last volume. Tokumaru and Hasune are going out and trying to keep up with seeing each other even though both of their schedules are quite full. A friend of Tokumaru's comes back from overseas and after talking with him Tokumaru begins to think about the future. The story progresses and Hasune is unsure of things even wanting to really continue to be his family's heir to the Tea Ceremony and the school. There are a few graphic scenes though none are explicit.
