Back when the candidates were first vying for position, it was exciting to watch who was rising to the top. At the beginning I didn't think Mr. Obama had much of a chance being that he was young, unknown, inexperienced, etc. The more that I listen to him talk on the TV and the radio the more I become convince that this was the person, out of all the others, who had the character and the savvy to lead and remake this United States of America into a country that we all can be proud of again. It's heartwarming, funny, poignant, all the while imparting wonderful lessons about what truly matters. Loved this one, and not just because I'm a "cat person" (hold the whiskers - and tail, too, for that matter).

This book like so many other "self-help" books has a lot of what I call common sense ideas of how to chase your dreams and work hard and so on and so on. But the big difference is that when you read it, you know it is within the context of a man that is dying shortly. Then you start to realize how he packed so much into his shortened life. I know it has made me change my perspective and just little things like looking at my task list and saying to myself, "geez that's been on there for awhile, why don't I just get that done." Anyways it is a fast read and is definitely worth reading. Please also check out his last lecture too, great speech.

After reading this wonderful biography, I want to thank Mr. Buffett for allowing the story of his life to be told, warts and all, and Alice Schroeder for doing such a great job in writing this book. I finished reading The Snowball, Warren Buffett and the Business of Life a few days ago and I truly miss not being able to read another chapter of Mr. Buffett's life. There is so much to comment upon in this book and much has already been said. However, what I would like to focus my comments on is the wisdom contained on the pages of this book if it is read in a thoughtful manner. Wow. Now that's some bad writing. Seriously. This book should have been a paragraph long article in Time Magazine. Unfortunately I had to read this for my book club. What an agonizing amount of work to plow through this one....But on the positive side, the deeds of Greg are commendable and I feel grateful for my comfortable life.
