Not since Ender's Game have I read a SciFi novel that challenges how we define humanity and morality like this book. It was incredibly well written, amazing character development and really pressed the reader to question their own personal views and truths. I liked this book better than her other series which may be b/c I'm older than what the Twilight series is aimed for but it was also because this book had bigger questions behind it and was both challenging and stimulating. I read the Host and immediately followed it by Breaking Dawn and can't believe the same writer wrote them. Hands down the Host was a must read.

In that same breadth I sincerely hope that Ms. Meyer does not write a sequel. The ending was powerful, it wasn't completely tied with a pretty bow and the questions ... Read More

2.Acheron (Dark-Hunter, Book 12) by: Sherrilyn Kenyon

This book has everything you need to get to truly understand Acheron. If you are a fan of the Dark Hunter series then you understand why the book is so long and detailed. Acheron is an amazing person and you get to see glimpses of that in the other DH books but in this one you get to see how he became who he is. For the people who think there was "no need" for the beginning part of this book should probably just flip to the middle for the "present day" part for the love story of the book. For anyone who actually wants to know about the character in the book and enjoys a heart wrenching story, start at the beginning.

Thank you Mrs. Kenyon. The story was told as it was meant to be.

I could not wait for this book to come out as it turns out I could have waited forever. This book did not even seen like it belonged in the series. If you don't read this one you really won't miss any thing. I really have nothing good to say about this book. The only reson to keep it is you have the whole series.

This book did grab me fairly early on and held my attention more and more as I read. There are some flashback scenes between the main character, Cilla, and her dead grandmother, Janet, that I mostly found annoying. Other than that, a decent mystery. Without giving away plot devices, I found enough clues in the story to lead me to guess the villian, or at least strongly suspect the person's identity, before the big reveal. This book includes some legitimate detail, such as the houseflipping jargon. At the same time, Cilla's boyfriend, Ford, writes and draws graphic novels, and at times his work is lewd and rough. So I found it amusing to read such differences in language and style, all within the same story.

The ending is mostly satisfying, though an epilogue would have been appreciated. Ends are tied ... Read More

A definite great read, from start to finish. (This is the third book.) While parts are definitely steamy, and that's a great reason to read this book, the story is so facinating, it kept me turning the pages, wanting to know more. I can't wait for more of these books!! A high recommend, along with Husband Swap and Roughing It: Two Dirty Stories.

I want to start off by saying that the third star for this novel was given simply out of admiration for keeping so many balls in the air. Ms Jacobs chose to tell a story with multiple character plotlines, and I know how hard this is. Keeping track of things, making sure everyone gets their due, 'seeing' everything along the way to the story's conclusion; a daunting task. However...

It's a 2-star book.

As I infer in the title for this review, it takes what is stereotypical for a chick-lit novel and pushes it all front-and-center. It deals with 'woman-centric' issues...but does it in a way that's really patronizing. It maintains a decidedly low-brow approach to the exposition, as if the reader either needs or prefers to have everything spelled out ('Tell, don't show!'), and even then, does it in an ... Love this book. This is actually the second copy i bought. Loved it so much that when i thought i lost the first one, i bought another one. This is book two in the sign of seven trilogy and it picks up the first story very well and leads into the last seamlessly. Nora Roberts is a favorite author of mine and any book you buy of hers is bound to be great

I liked Tailspin much better than the last book. However, it's becoming a bit long and after 12 books, the plots are becoming predictable. Probably should've waited until it came out in paperback and saved a couple $$$.

10.Death Angel: A Novel by: Linda Howard

Since Linda Howard started writing mystery I've loved every book. This was an exception. Read Now You See Her, Mr Perfect, To Die For. Anything but this one. I want to be fair. Let's just say this one went beyond the imagination and into ridiculous. The so-called Hero is an assasin with no conscience, no joke. And finally, two users getting together is not my idea of a happy ending. Linda Howard's sense of humor, daring and fun was not included.
