The first half of the book is very interesting. It covers a variety of situations that human cadavers are used in science and medicine. The last half of the book goes off-topic about historical uses of cadavers (mummies, etc) to just weird (folk medicine).

I have read many of Stephen King's short stories, yet none of them could make me cringe the way this book can. It is disgustingly irresistable and once you start reading it's difficult to stop. This book discusses the sly ways that science has evaded the societal norms and researched the human reproductive system. Mrs. Roach goes to great lenghts to research for this book and it pays off as the writer seems well informed and knowledgable on the subject. If i had to describe Mary Roach in a word it would be curious.

The Anatomy Coloring Book I bought for my wife studying to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. I didn't immediately see the value of it until I started going through the book with her. It is a way of learning bone and muscle structure and how they fit together. The coloring is really what put it together for her and my interest to a certain extent. Again,another tool and will become a part of her working library. Jack C Watson

Evil Genes provides a solid presentation of some of the issues that presently attend the prospects or desirability of intentionally altering behavior genetically. As important, the author goes through the science and engineering that is becoming available to do just that. Finally, she fleshes out (esp. with her own sister's story) how the disturbed personality can function for virtually his/her entire life as "successfully sinister;" she gives us several signs for knowing a borderline when we encounter one... along with coping strategies. I would just like to say that this sender wasted no time and I received the book promplty within the week that i ordered it. Also, the book was just as they promised it would be. Thank you very much. I have asked and paid extra for items to be expedited before and they still took forever. For those who are wondering if the BRS Physiology book is worth it: IT DEFINITELY IS!!! I am very happy that I purchased it and know that I will be using it for decades... yes I said decades.
