I bought this book 4 years ago while visiting Washington, D.C. We had just missed Tim's book signing at Barnes & Noble. I never got around to reading it, but over the past few months moved it to the top of my stack. On June 13, I reached for the book and discovered I had bought an autographed copy. I'll keep it forever. I've finished the book and no words can express what a loss his departure from this earth will mean for all of us. What a countryman!

The information on brain function was easy to understand, and interesting. The exercise prescriptions and self-tests were very helpful. Excellent book.

Informative and interesting to read. I'm really glad I got the most recent edition, since there's a lot of good information for all types of pregnant women. All in all, a pretty comprehensive guide.

My husband and I read this book with several other couples during a marriage enrichment class. It helped us tremendously and we didn't even think we had any communication issues! I have recommended this book to dozens of people, and they all say what a positive impact it has on their relationships. It's definitely a must read for anyone interested in learning how to truly communicate with and express the right "love language" to their spouse.

A must have book. Easy to read through and reference over and over again. Clearly lays out all of the pros and cons of which vaccine. A very matter of fact book that simply gives you all of the information you need to make the decisions that you, as a parent, feel most comfortable about. We will be referencing this book for years.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was very interesting and at times funny. I did not want to put it down. However, if you are looking for a get rich quick idea or scheme, it is not in this book. Also, if you are not interested in real estate, you may not like this book, because that is most of the author's story. When I heard about this book, I thought it would show me how to get rich. The book does not show you how to get rich, it tells the story. If you want to get rich you only need do one thing, MAKE MONEY. I know it sounds stupid, but my uncle told me, "if you want to make big money, you have to do things in a big way." By the time my strong-willed toddlers had become teens I had painted myself into a corner with popular "democratic" parenting techniques that eroded my confidence and credibility. Though I had the good sense to balance my limited parenting skills with boatloads of prayer, this doctor's prescription would certainly have saved some gray hairs! With his classic humor and encouraging style Dr. Leman offers steel reinforcement to those with noodles for backbones. I look forward to putting these techniques into practice when my grandkids come to visit - and putting a copy of this book into the hands of my adult kids.

Now that we're expecting #2 and I'm back in the baby section, I happened across the listing for this book and felt compelled to write because this book really had a positive impact on us with our first. I learned early on in my first pregnancy that there is WAY TOO MUCH information out there and if you read long enough (books, blogs, mags, etc) you'll find both an author who agrees completely with you and an author who is at total odds with you. Sanity came for me when I allowed myself to remember that I am a fairly intelligent person and that I should trust more of my own judgement and instinct - even if this was our first child. Anyway, this book, to me, just made sense. The author talks about a "4th trimester" during which your newborn adjusts to his new surroundings.
