Just finished my 1st semester in law school and we used this in my Torts class. The book itself isn't bad, and at times it's downright funny. They have an interesting selection of cases and some opinions by judges who fancy themselves writers. Always ALWAYS read the notes between cases. A lot of time they are no more than references to other cases, but they provide some useful information, and again, some are quite funny. Some commentary aside from just cases would be helpful. The stuff on strict liability for animals is a great example of just how good and helpful commentary could/should be. I would recommend getting at Torts Nutshell as a comprehension aid.Torts in a Nutshell (Nutshell Series) All in all, good book. Loved the class a lot.

I'm finding my torts class difficult at times, so I'm glad to have this book for my text. It has a lot of examples to illustrate each concept, which is helping me grasp all the ideas pretty well. Also, the book is not nearly as expensive as a lot of textbooks, so I feel I'm getting my money's worth out of it.

Great practice set for a more comprehensive study of the LSAT. Goes great with any study guide. The best way to ace the LSAT is to do as many tests as you can, time yourself, and review your mistakes.

This book is the best law book that I have ever read. The cases are interesting and well abbreviated. The best part though - the notes before and after the cases. Chemerinsky does a great job of explaining what is going on. Instead of giving you ambiguous answers and rhetorical questions, this book actually explains the law. I will buy the next edition when it comes out, even though I will be out of law school. That's how good it is. This book should be standard at all schools, and should be the model for legal education text.

This was the most confusing subject I've ever endured in my life. Unfortunately, this case book only added to it. There are cases after cases that are supposed to help you understand civil procedure, but there is little discussion of the law itself or about why the court decided the first case the way it did but did the polar opposite in a second, similar case. The questions that are provided after the cases are designed to help you analyze the law, but they are of little help when you have no foundation. Most people will probably need to consult at least one other source to understand civil procedure. If your law library provides a hornbook, make it your best friend. It is too late for me.
