I really enjoyed this book, it was a quick read and made me laugh out loud many times. I have read all of David Sedaris' books and this meets the expectations that the others did...AWESOME:)

This book is absolutely wonderful. I found myself deliberately putting it aside so the reading experience would last longer. Beautifully written. Great story.

This book is so awesome. After I read it, I ordered five more copies to give away to people I love. Every page had something beautiful on it. I'd have to stop and put the book down and just breathe for a minute to absorb what I'd just read. The first few chapters are tragic and difficult to read through, but it gets so much better--it's so much bigger than I'd imagined. This story of pure love is amazing. I truly do wish everyone could read The Shack and get something out of it. If I had more money, I'd buy dozens of copies and share! And I wholly encourage others to do so. Read it and pass it on! It's soooooooo goooooood!

What happened to the once hilariously funny Stephanie Plum? I can't describe how disappointed I am with Fearless Fourteen. I have looked forward to a new Plum novel every June for years and this book is not only not funny, it's totally tasteless. Grandma is not funny, Stephanie is totally apathetic, Joe is raunchy and Ranger is practically nonexistent. Lula has forced herself on Tank with a no one proposed to her engagement. There is really no mystery going on here. The side characters have thoughtless personas I am struggling to keep turning the pages and I don't think I don't feel motivated to finish this book.

I think Evanovich is burned out with this series and it shows. This happens with a long running series, If this writer is tired of her characters, it might not be a ... Read More

Nan is a feisty and eccentric 65 year old widow, who has lived alone for many years in a large house in Nantucket. Rather than selling her house, she decides to rent out some of the rooms for the summer. The book is about the people who come to live with her, all of whom have their own problems and the way that they all come together. It's a warm hearted and easy book - not one that will stay with you particularly, but a good summer read that hooks you in quickly and keeps moving at a good pace.

I've read a couple of Jane Green's early novels (Babyville and The Other Woman) and enjoyed them. "The Beach House" is quite different. It's still a light and enjoyable read but it's a change in style. Having said that, I enjoyed it just as much: it's just different. Interestingly enough, I read an ... Read More

A fantastic novel that although a work of fiction, touches on some of the most important topics of our time. This novel is filled with details that those in the know will recognize and appreciate. Mr. Thor has clearly done his homework and more importantly (for a novel) has woven current events and fiction together into a breathtaking tale that won't let go of you once you start.

'Show, don't tell.'

This is a primary Writer's Credo. And this novel is a monument to disregarding it. In fact, it celebrates 'telling', as opposed to the more inclusive (and collaborative) 'showing'. As a burgeoning writer, I found it a fascinating experience, reading this book...in the same way that as a screenwriter, I learn more from bad films than from good ones.

Don't get me wrong; I enjoyed this book. It had its moments. (I'm currently reading a slew of 'chick-lit' novels as research; I have one on the go in this genre) Putting aside the facile nature of the exposition (it gets a little tedious declaring character by way of possessions, no matter how much supporting, corroborative narrative is provided), and the pedestrian plotline, 'Love the One You're With' is capably written...if ... I really thought this would be a great fast summer read but I was wrong. The book was a slow version of "Sex In The City" without the characters we all love. This was a disappointing follow up from the author of the Devil Wore Prada, which I loved.

10.The Host: A Novel by: Stephenie Meyer

Stephenie Meyer never disapoints. I thought The Host was a fantastic read. I was a little nervous at first, since The Twilight series is one of my all time favorites and how can one top that. I am well over the "Young Adult" reader and I was pleasantly suprised. It was a little confusing at first, but give it a chance. It was terrific. I do hope that Stephenie makes The Host into a series, you cannot help but fall in love with this book too!!
