This edition is actually an improvement on the old edition. There a many more charts graphs and tables as well as current information that the old edition just does not have. I highly recommend this book.

I had to buy 3 text books for a kinesiology class and this one is my favorite. It covers the hands-on portion of kinesiology and is very easy to interpret.

This book had many details that will help establish one's foundation of kinesiology. It is more advanced but is necessary for a graduate level course.

As a busy medical student, I am very protective of my time. Langman's Medical Embryology (LME) is indeed a long, and at times difficult read, but in my humble opinion it is well worth that time and effort, as it is the only way I found to understand the field to the extent I wanted to. Whether for a general anatomy class, or for specific organ systems (especially the cardiovascular block - VSD's, ASD's, etc.), embryology creeps up again and again. I've read some negative reviews on here about the length or complexity of LME, but the fact is embryology IS complex, many of the details ARE important, and worse yet, the material inherently builds off of itself - e.g. you cannot skip over the development of the pharyngeal arches, or cram and then forget the information, and then expect to understand ... The book was a good basic text, however, it was not user friendly, difficult to follow. The CD Rom that accompanied the book was basically a waste.

This is one of the basic book to clinical pactitioners. is very simple to apply the criteria and is very clear to novice researchers.

The Fifth Edition of Orthopedic Physical Assessment is an outstanding reference for orthopedic physical therapists. The additional color pictures, illustrates, and upgraded tables within the chapter topics provides the reader a overview of a wealth of information. The regional and diagnose specific functional measurement/assessment tests are helpful for clinical outcome measurement data. Chapter four presents an outstanding overview of TMJ examination for an example. The chapter Appendixes with the reliability, validity, specificity, and sensitivity of special/diagnostic tests are helpful. I looked forward to seeing the 5th edition and have not been disappointed!

While I agree with the previous reviewer that the book is slow reading, I have many positive things to say about it as well. The book has a plethora of resources for students and practitioners alike, including readings, websites, etc. to augment eval/tx or to further explore a topic. Also, the fact that it's a brand-new edition means that everything is evidence-based and backed up by the latest research, meaning that what you read is best-practice. The book is also very comprehensive and covers all the "traditional" areas of OT plus new burgeoning areas of practice.

The coloring book is extremely helpful. There were some aspects of Physiology that I was having a difficult time grasping simply reading material from text books and listening to lectures, the coloring book has made understanding many concepts "childs play". I highly recommend this as a supplement to any anatomy/physiology (or even biology) course. -Kat
