I cannot rate this product due to the fact that that it was never sent to me. I ordered two books on the same day and received one of them a few days later. I really need to be rating the seller of the book, since they ripped me off.

This book is a great reference for anyone studying spanish. It lays out the verbs and their conjugations clearly and systematically without any extra filler. I have used it in higher-level college spanish classes and have also given it to first-year high school students. Everyone has found this book a great tool in their studies.

I have used this text when tutoring individual students at the undergraduate and graduate level. I have also used it extensively in my management development classses featuring writing. I use this dictionary quite a bit as it is small enough to be light and easy to carry and big enough to contain most everyday words. I think that the content is good but I compared to my other (larger) dictionary by Harper Collins the paper is somewhat gray and the words don't stand out as well. Also the ink is not the most permanent so if you are not careful you can end up with gray stains on your fingertips. I would recommend spending slightly more to get something with a higher quality of paper and printing.

For the price, you get a lot of bang for your couple of bucks. Although this little book doesn't cover much material or grammar rules, you can use the ready-made phrases to make more phrases as you increase your Spanish vocabulary. This along with a Spanish/English dictionary helped me pass my introductory Spanish class when I had to write sentences in Spanish for homework. Some other reviewers didn't like it because the phrases sound touristy, overly formal or out-dated, but I would rather learn proper/formal Spanish before trying to master the colloquial. Besides, it is probably safer to use the more-formal Spanish when traveling. What if you get an idiom wrong trying to use the local dialect, offend the natives, and then who knows what may happen?! Currently I am in an intensive language course at BYU and we used this book the first week to learn the Alphabet of Arabic. With this book and hard work my class was able to write the alphabet in just one week and understand the vocabulary words given within the book. This is the best out on the market. I know if you are willing to put in the time you will be able to write the alphabet in one week if you choose to do so. Like any language it takes a great deal of work but the rewards will be endless. I highly recommend this book to beginning students of Arabic.

While only just beginning to read this novel I have found some very intriguing remarks just in the first section where the author refers to a teacher teaching a class by reading a passage from another book where a home owner is selling the house and another man is attempting to pay the man and his family to leave the community. The description of the man trying to pay the man who owns the house off to move is stated by the teacher as "The Devil" because of the nature of his proposal. The nature of the proposal was that of integrity, dignity, and self-respect. All were in violation with the proposal and the man was in a bind because after the house was sold, the money ended up missing.
