Ok, considering i have not spent that much time reading this book, mainly because it creates nausium with all the statistical talk, i think its a pretty good book. Just know that its not a story or interviews or anything like that. Lots of percentages. The volume i bought actually has a reddish cover, i think its slightly newer. Also, i happened to switch over to learning how to trade using bar charts, i like it much better. The candles....work, but i hate how i see all the different candle signs i have learned all over the place!! And i think all the candle patterns are seen just as easy with the good ole HLCO bars. I recommend Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques by Steve Nison if you want to learn about a bunch of candle signs/patterns...its an awesome book that i bought based ... Read More

Anyone planing on or currently trading using technical analysis should read this book. The lessens inside can help prevent loss of savings. This book takes a careful look at various types of technical indicators and trading strategies that use technical analysis, the types of methods commonly found in charting software and technical analysis books. For me the bottom line is that making a consistent income from trading, using technical analysis, is difficult. (Losing money is not so difficult). The software referenced in the book and available for a relatively small price, is in my opinion very powerful, but difficult to master (C++ source code that must be compiled, debugged for your compiler, and modified to create useful systems).

It's great fun finding oddball days and weeks to celebrate in Chase's Calendar of Events. This is invaluable for libraries and radio stations. Besides telling you when National BBQ Day is, it also gives a few details about various holidays. I can't count the number of times I used this book during my years as a librarian. Often the information can't be found anywhere else. I haven't tried the CD-ROM but imagine it would be convenient looking things up on Chase's using the computer. The book is well-indexed, so it's easy to use.

I am only a third of the way through the book and it has been very informative and easy to understand. I have never been able to grasp Crystal until I started reading this book. If you want to save yourself $1000 for training, buy this book.

Overall the book gave good advice. I especially like the special sections to homemakers, ex-convicts, veterans, and people in recovery. We all have to learn to sell ourselves to employers if we want to have work we'll enjoy. I also like the idea of short cover letters. 4 paragraphs is just too long for today's hiring manager. The one thing I disagree with is not using bullets in your resume. The resume examples in the book are very text heavy. They're not the best ways to use the reader's time. I think it's good to use bullets to make the resume easier to read. I also wish he made a section for people who've been laid off or fired since that happens to so many people nowadays. Makes sense to have a book to look at whenever you're at a lost of word. This book serves as my reference in my daily activity - from writing letters/memos to sending e-mail (business or personal). A really great companion.
