I got this book because EVERYONE reccommends the 7 habits books. I have thoroughly enjoyed the first couple chapters.

It's very nice to have a parenting book that doesn't waste time or pages waxing lyrical about mythologies and instead just gets down to the business of raising intelligent and ethical children.

had high expectantions after baby 411 and I am not disappointed at all. Easy to understand, lots of relevant information, all of it important at one point or another in our childs progress.

I (obviously) can't be 100% certain, but I think "negresse" is a play on the word "egresse"...meaning "the action or right of going or coming out; exit". I don't think it has anything to do with race; just 'the back door'.

This is a really good book. I also read the "Boundaries" book by both authors. It really helped me out with my issues of allowing others to take advantage of me. I was always giving but felt bad about how horribly I was being treated by the people who are close to me whom I gave to. Well, I took a stab at the Boundaries in Marriage book. What was most helpful to me was seeing samples of other couples in the book which is something I could relate to as well as the scriptures. I saw a review that said Boundaries are not allowing you to become one but in the book it says it allows you to take a look at yourself and change yourself because you cannot change anyone and keep your focus on Christ. I purchased this book in order to help my daughter out who had just been diagnosed with having AD/HD. She is only 4 but yes she has it. The book AD/HD Parenting Handbook: Practical Advise for Parents is a good book. It has a lot of different ways to help out your child who had AD/HD. It gives you little pointers and also has a little checklist for you to help you through the rough times. I have found that with this book it gives you tips like instead of spanking your child that has the impulsive kind of AD/HD to put them into Timeout. This method has worked well for my daughter and I find that if I even mention the word TimeOut she gets quiet and behaves for me. They should give you this book when you get your diagnosis. Seriously! It was the first book I bought on Autism. It's a great place to dive in to Autism. It covers everything from Meds, IEPs, Schooling, Adult programs, everything you NEED to know on the subject. I would recommend it to anyone!
