My son's preschool teacher told me about this book last year and I was skeptical about buying it...well after attempting several things on my own, I figured why not give it a try. I listened to about 30 minutes of this cd and was able to get the understanding of the method down enough to implement it over the weekend. Well, I was amazed at how my kids reacted to this. They understood it right off the back and I am totally amazed. Sometimes, I don't even have to count to "2", once I say "that's 1" and hold up my finger they get it together. I can't wait to really get into the rest of the cd...this is very good. I have two boys ages 5 and 7 years old....so i feel if its works for me it can work for you :)) -

I gave this book five stars because it is beautifully illustrated and a wonderful new edition of this old classic. It does include a CD, and my one complaint is that the CD only has four songs on it. I'm glad I still have my older version on CD!

I have been trying to teach my daughter to read since last year but I don't know where to start and how to do it. I tried something that obviously didn't work out and its frustrating for my child and myself until I bought this book making my life easy. My daughter is always excited and is always looking forward for this reading lessons and for only few lessons that we started she is already reading. Really amazing and I'm so glad I found this book which is so helpful. I just wished I bought this book earlier.

I originally started buying Boynton's Mom's Family Calendar three years ago because I needed a new calendar and this one had the characters from my daughter's favorite board books splattered across the pages. Once I started to use it I recognized that it was more than just a cute calendar. I love how I have a place on the calendar for every person in the family where I can record who is doing what on any given day. Everyone gets their own column for the entire month. Because I have 5 spaces across the calendar for every day of the week, I seldom find myself not having enough room to record all that we have going on for a particular day. I am skeptical of all blogs-turned-book-deals these days, after wasting my money several times on inferior writing and recycled ideas. This book is different. Reading it lowers my blood pressure every time, and inspires me to be a better, more calm, patient, and creative parent. Yes, much of the content was already available on her blog (which is the best mama-blog out there, in my opinion), but seeing it in book form - the cohesiveness and flow of the project... it's just beautiful. This book makes a wonderful gift for natural-minded families, which is why I am buying several.

My title says it all. That is exactly why I wanted this book. The only reason it got a 4 star was because it didn't have anything special for infants or small babies. Basically a lot of the games I have to wait until my baby is older. On top of it, I was able to actually show that there was more to TV for children, especially educationally.
