'Fleeced" by Dick Morris and Eileen MCGann is a most important book. It identifies the problems of our time including the Obama Candidacy (first expose of what the man stands for or against), Liberal Media bias, the ineffectiveness of COngress, lobbyists, credit card companies, hedge fund billionaires, Teachers unions, and subprime loan crisis for openers. Each chapter is well researched at IDENTIFYING the problems posed by the topic at hand. The book' strength is the in-depth exposure of the real problems discussed.

The book is contemporary in many respects, but is dated (given the lag time between submitting the final galley and actually producing the book-about 1 to 2 months). I estimate that deadline occurred during April, 2008, given the failure to identify and incorporate ... Read More

To begin with....this book is written very well. Concise and to the point.
And, if McClellan's points are true, we should all be mad as hell...and positive that we're not going to take it any more.
I find it hard to believe that Bush has even a 25% approval rating. I would like to meet some of these 25 percenters and try to find out what they see that I don't.
Everyone in America should read thus book, especially young people. The future is in their hands, and this is a turorial regarding how NOT to run a country,

Okay, so the writing ain't supoib, but hey, you gotta see the forest through the trees. This is an important book that should be required reading for everyone, as someone in these reviews said, who is educated or uneducated. Who reads or doesn't read. I've chosen to give copies as door prizes at my talks on volunteering overseas. (CAI doesn't take volunteers, sorry.) Yes, "the defenseless sky" and other such phrases cause little bumps in the readers' road, but the story transcends all this surface noise. Greg can easily find a different writer next time, but please let the story continue. And be careful, Greg!

Woh one thing I learned from this book is Bugliosi reallllllllllllly hates George Bush jr. I certainly am not a Bush supporter. In fact I feel he should be impeached. When I got this audio CD I kinda thought it was going to be a mock trial with all the facts from both sides. I was somewhat disappointed because the book turned into a random dialogue of directed hatred. I could even put up with that except it also turned into a bit of self glorification for the author. I was aso a bit taken back at the obvious mistakes made and now wonder if this publication was just a way to make a fast buck with little time for investigation. He quoted the presidents salary @ 400k per year. My God I thought that was raised to 800k 10 years ago? There were numerous other obvious errors also. Kind of an insult. Anyway I gave it 3 stars mainly ... Read More

6.Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left, From Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning by: Jonah Goldberg

I suspect that the ivory tower elites will despise this book. University acadamia and the media always equate conservative governments such as the USA under Dubya and Canada under Prime Minister Harper as being the equivalent to Nazis Germany under Hitler. Jonah Goldberg deftly exposes the fact the the Liberal Left have more in common with the National Socialists than just the term "socialist".
It all boils down to individual rights ie the true conservative view that each person is of infinite value vs the socialist view that the worth of the individual must be sacrificed for the "good" of the State. Which is a paradox unto itself, considering that Liberalism/Socialism does not recognize the concepts of good and evil, only moral equivalence.

I am a long time fan of Speaker Gingrich, and I believe that he is one of the smartest and most innovative thinkers on the political scene. I always love it when he shows up on television to comment on something, and I was anxious to tackle this book.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed. While I agreed with most of the ideas offered, I felt that the book was little more than a collection of position statements whose primary support was the author's belief and the fact that x% of Americans polled agreed with the position stated. I was also disappointed that, after a promising start in which the author spoke about the shrill tone of today's highly partisan political climate, a number of the subsequent discussions seemed rather partisan with numerous unflattering references to "the left," the Democrats," "unions" and the ... I haven't finished reading it yet but I absolutely will. The stories are written with much irony as they reveal the wrong-way workings of our government, institutions, culture and minds. The insights are wonderful, help to define and explain why life doesn't work the way it should/used to. You can pick this book up and put it down in whatever increments you like but you won't put it away until you're sure you didn't miss anything. Then you'll GIVE it away. I recommend it.

Naomi is a fabulous writer. She makes reading the sad truths of our greedy corporate culture easy to digest.
Sadly, this book will make you weep to know the truth.
Those of us with a conscience must read the book to atone for the sins of the neocon leaders and their terrorist ilk (e.g. cheney, reagan, bushs I and II, rumsfeld etc etc...see abu ghraib...see pinochet...see and not not remain silent).

Thank you Naomi for writing from the heart and soul about the indecency visited upon humanity.

This small book does an excellent job of summarizing the political history of the Republican Party the past 60 years or so. It offers a critique of where it went, if not wrong, at least out of focus the past eight years. It is a companion to David Frum's book, "Comeback," and the authors refer to Frum's ideas frequently although he is not credited at the end. Some of their ideas I agree with, some I don't know enough about to criticize and I disagree with their health care chapter although I agree on its importance. The emphasis is on the appeal of the Republican Party to the "Sam's Club voter," a term they claim to have originated and which has been used by Governor Pawlenty of Minnesota. It is a very useful concept and the heart of this book. Their argument is that the family is a crucial institution for the lower income and less educated American. They discuss how the ... Read More
