This book has full conjugation of nearly every verb you will come across while you are learning basic French. It helps trememndously, especially in writing essays and letters, and is essential to understanding and learning irregular verbs. Crystal clear notation and explanatory. I used this Barrons series while I learned Spanish and I am now fluent. I am now in an intermediate level French class and find this incredibly useful-- after I got it my essay grades actually improved. Parents, get this for your kids, and students, get this so you no longer have to guess the past participle for "voir"!

This is an essential book for students of Spanish language. I used this book constantly as a student (over ten years ago ;), and now, as a tutor of high school Spanish language students, I urge all my students to make the small investment for this indispensable book. It has all the same information as "501 Spanish Verbs," but in a much more convenient "travel size." HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

French the Easy Way is, in my opinion, a definate buy if you know nothing about French and are just starting out, or if you took it in school, totally forgot it (like me) and want to re-learn it. Basically, it's a work book and grammar book all in one. I am so glad I bought it. In addition to providing a pretty solid foundation for further study, this book is a breath of fresh air. Many language books are confusing, illogical, ill-organized and just give you a bunch of seemingly meaningless phrases to memorize! The well-written lessons get to the point quickly without confusing you with a bunch of mumbo-jumbo convoluted phrasing. The text and CDs work quite well as a pronunciation guide. However, they are not intended as a teaching guide for learning French. They should be used only as a refresher for those who have a basic knowledge of French or as a supplement to other teaching materials.

It's a great book. I use it in French class! It's really good with the grammar and vocabulary... for the listing comes the book with CD, but it's to quick for me... it's probably useful when you done with the book! I would recommend to study with the book and to use other materials for the listing and speaking practice! Enjoy French!

I find this to be a compact, organized way to take my learning of French vocabulary with me. I think that the organization of the subjects is done well. The vocabulary coverage is rather comprehensive and the author has clearly gone out of his way to include vocabulary which is needed to read newspapers & magazines or express more advanced concepts, not just the vocabulary learned in the first 2 or 3 semesters of college French. On an added note, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the paper that was used for this text. Too often, I have purchased easily portable texts like this only to find that the paper is too thin to sustain any reasonable wear. A very pleasant surprise!
