This book is for anyone who is divorced or has thought about divorce--or even for us single folk. It's smart, sophisticated, witty, and briskly written. It would seem destined for the best-seller list if the media (and book chains) weren't fixated on promoting the same books and the same ideas. (David Carr--hasn't that been done? Bob Woodward--jeez, again? Dexter Filkins--yeah, war is hell, thanks for the 100th book on Iraq. Dick Cheney? You mean we need a book to tell us he's Dr. Evil? ) Anyway, if you want an original take on a ubiquitous institution--divorce, and more specifically, how we got to where we are--this would be a good book for you. Or, dare I say, a good gift for someone you know and love, even a married friend, especially a married friend.

Love at First Bite Four of the best paranormal romance writers come together to bring a novel about warewolves, vampires, and nail biting paranormal activity. This is one of the best books I have read from several of my most favorite authors. It is one of those books that you cannot put down for fear of missing what will happen next.

More detailed and therefore suitable for the basic neuroscientist than Kandel and Schwartz. A good review to read before comprehensive exams for the Neuroscience PhD. All the authors are recognized experts in the field. An excellent treatment of systems and cognitive neuroscience, including emotion and motivation. Some may find the molecular details a little much, but this is what textbooks are for. Nobody ever said neuroscience was easy!

I have really enjoyed The Companion Series by Susan Squiers! She is a very bold and vivid writer. I can't seem to put the books down once I am started and while I enjoy getting to and knowing how the story is ending I'm very disappointed that the journey is over. Her version of "vampirism" is very well thought out and credible.

it was ok had read better and read alot worse but it is a good story with a happy ending

I never thought about the thousands of people all over the world who conscientiously practised their profession but were brought down by a series of scandals by people they never knew working in offices they never dealt with. This book is the fall of Arthur Andersen from their point of view. It details the history of Arthur Andersen from its founding until the end and tries to makes sense of what happened. They do a powerful job, making the reader sensitve to the size and corporate culture of Andersen and explaining how changes in the company to accomodate the changing demand for audit services opened the door to this kind of thing to happen.
