Tanya Huff- "Music Hath Charms"- A bit confusing and not interesting in the least.

Marjorie Liu "Minotaur in Stone"- Slow start and rocky middle. The story is a bit to romancey for me. The usage of Greek mythology is the redeeming factor that made this story a bit interesting. The sex was ok, just a bit weird though, being that she was having sex with a creature that has the head of a bull and the body of a man.

Cheyenne McCray- "Demon Lover"- Exquisite story! Extremely sexy. Cheyenne really knows how to get you to connect with the characters and care for them. This story is about an incubus who falls in love. I'll stop there so I won't give anything away. The sex was hot and sensual. The scenes have a lot of sexual tention in them. No wam-bam here. Now, the only reason that I read this novel, or gave it a 3 was because of JD Robb's Interlude in Death. THAT IS THE ONLY REASON.

Interlude in Death, by JD Robb was just what I have grown to love and expect...a wonderful read about Eve and Roarke. In this story, Eve has been asked to speak at a conference "off" planet by her Commander, Whitney. So on top of hating "space" travel, she has to solve the mystery of who killed someone she slugged hours before. It appears that someone has an axe to grind with her husband, and they aren't too particular about her as well. You will simply love as she weaves her way through an investigation with a sexy police chief who works for Roarke. This short story definately was worth a 10, hence my 3 rating. WONDERFUL.

This is so slow moving that although I'm halfway through (220 pages), nothing has happened. Gillian, the heroine has no backbone, and is totally downtrodden. It's hard to understand how the hero Ross can still love her. I peeked ahead, and the end was downright creepy, and not in a good way. I'm not sure at this point that I'll even finish this, and I've loves most of her other work

Really enjoyed the twists and turns in this novel. While the book is set in the 20's with no cell phones or other electronics, it doesn't distract from the story line. I liked the struggles Susan Krinard explores in the main characters and the glimpses we see in other characters too. Makes for a more interesting story.

Has a supernatural component that is refreshing (though I admit to being new to the loup-garou lore). The main characters are neither perfect, nor knightly. Both of them have to gain something from each other before their love can come to life. And this is not one of those romances where sex occurs early and often throughout the book. But when the story does heat up, it is great.

This story takes place in the 1890's, in New York and New Mexico. It is the time of the Indian Wars, also of the elegant societies of New York and London from The Golden Bowl (Henry James) and The Age of Innocence (Edith Wharton). In contrast to the elegant books just mentioned, the protagonists of Once a Wolf are were-wolves. Rowena belongs both to the elegant world of The Golden Bowl, being English aristocracy, as well as that ... Read More

Very interesting reading the latest reviews of this book, and for the most part I must disagree. I think part of the problem for some peope, and I agree with a poster a few reviews down, is that most authors explain too much to the reader too soon. Not the case with this book, thankfully.

This is one of my all time favorite reads. I first read it the year it was published in 1994, and have read it several times since. My old copy was so beat up, I recently bought a new one.

The pace of the book in my opinion is not slow at all. It is descriptive, sets the mood. When I read this book, I feel like I am right there with Joelle and Luke, in the middle of the vast Canadian wilderness which is the setting for this book.

One of my criteria when I buy a book is that there must be paragraphs througout ... Read More

I found that this book was somewhat flat. It was ok but it was hard to hop straight into the story.

"To Catch a Wolf" is both the first Krinard book and first werewolf book I've ever read - and I quite enjoyed it. The writing was crisp and elegant, and the story itself had interesting characters and a creative setting. I also understand it is part of a series, of which I am sure to read.

Set in Colorado in the late 1800s, "To Catch" revolves around two love triangles. The first includes ex-convict Morgan Holt (a werewolf who wants nothing to do with humans), crippled socialite Athena (a repressed werewolf), and snake charmer Tamar (a voluptuous circus freak with reptile skin). The second love triangle includes ruthless businessman Niall (Athena's human half-brother), horse tamer Caitlin (a pixy of a circus performer), and social climber Cecily (scheming her way up through false friendship).

The heroes are Morgan and ... Read More
