In browsing my book shelf I came upon and then found myself rereading this incredibly simple yet profound book. The principles and ideas Stephen writes about are truly ways to discover how to live your life as the person you want to be. I especially found the section where Stephen writes about how powerful unexamined attitudes and perceptions influence how I react toward situations and others. Once I started looking at my predetermined thoughts...those same situations became less mundane and irritating. My experiences became more authentic, meaningful and enjoyable instantaneously. Stephen writes of this as a "paradigm shift", where our attitudes and behaviors, left unexamined, shape how we feel and act in our life in mechanical patterns. I read this book as an assignment for a communication class. I thoroughly enjoyed this book as it was not only easy to read but, it provided valuable insight to what goes wrong during the communication process and how one can begin to steer the process back in a productive direction. After reading this book, I was able to use the practical applications to many different conversations i.e. personal and professional relationships. It is a truly valuable tool if you have ever left a conversation feeling that you could have done more. I will be purchasing the authors' other books.

This book is excellent. As a fan of Steven Covey, this book by Steven Covey's son is one of the best self-help/business books I've ever read. It is worth every penny - even if you can't change the face of your organization, you start by learning to trust yourself. That alone, is the reason to invest in this book. The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens was written by Sean Covey in order to improve the overall quality of a teenager's life. Sean Covey not only introduces the importance of including these seven habits in a teen's daily life, but also touches on many important points including self esteem, peer pressure, relationships and health. The summer before my freshman year I was selected to attend a two week Leadership Institute that was based off The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens. This book was gifted to me at Christmas by an employer years ago when it was "The Seven Habits". Covey is a classic. This book will change your life. I promise you. Is you follow it - the positive changes will begin immediately. You will begin to get way more done douring the course of your day and still have more time for family...etc... There is a reason this book has been selling so well for so long. Don't be the only person at work that has not read it.

I give this book five stars as it really helped me organise and prioritise my life. I develped a great mission statement, I review my roles weekly, and I am so happy with all the things I am achieving. I am also developing Integrity, really! Rather than just talking the talk I am walking the talk. I have had a few friends recently comment on my input into their lives. I now can schedule, my personal goals weekly, my family goals with my two young children, making my husband happy, doing commmunity work and looking out for my friends. Whilst I am still a work in progress, this book together with the 7 habits, have made a huge impact in my world. Many think this is a book for managers and the businessman. Wrong! If you truly want to spend the rest of your life as a happy, fulfilled person, buy this book. You know you are giving it its dues when you revisit the sections on the first three habits time and time again. As a forty plus something yearold, the first set of habits took me several months to digest. Covey is the finest philosopher of our time, and this is truly a tour de force. Dave
