I love all of the Joe Grey mysteries. A great mystery and a wonderful writer who understands cats.

I've read all these cat books by Shirley Murphy. My husband and daughter got intrigued by them too. They are well written and fun. I can hardly wait for the next book which is coming out early next year. Joe Grey and Dulcie are cats. They help the cops of Molena Point CA to solve mysteries by poking their little selves into places no cop could get into..at least not legally. They can talk...but only a very few people know this. Joe is wise enough to know some people would use him for their own purposes if they knew his talents. I would rate this series 5 stars.

For a mystery novel, there is very little mystery in this book - notwithstanding the slight twist that the author introduces at the end (two murders committed at the same time are actually committed by two people). There is also no mystery as to who did the dirty deeds and why. Anyone who has followed this series and read it reasonably attentively could figure out who was the perpetrator or perpetrators of the crimes being discussed. Yet again, Shriley Murphy has filled my reading world with the delight of cats. Joe Grey and Dulcie have become friends as have their human pals. Not only have I enjoyed all of her books to date, but have made certain that all of my family and friends meet these wonderful characters as well. My only hope is that Ms Murphy continues to regale us with the adventures of these marvelous cats. The only down side to getting these books is that I find myself still turning the pages in the wee hours of the night!!!
