This was by far the best of the series. It was long but so worth it. It had depth and a story line that was amazingly easy to follow. I loved the story of Acheron and it definitely brought more to the dark hunter series. I would recommend this to anyone who has or has not followed the books and likes mythological fiction and romance.

Whoa. I was actually shocked by how bad this book was. After a long stint of Kresley Cole, I guess I've been spoiled. Regardless, after having other Cole fans recommend Kenyon to me, I expected at least something above a High School level. Let me ... let me just write out one tiny little dialogue scene for you: "Only on the outside," he said in a voice so low she wasn't sure she heard it. "What was that?" She asked. Kyrian kept me at the edge of my seat. Grace is a strong woman who draws you in. She is not the typical heroine in one of the romance novels who needs saving, since she is strong and sure of herself. This book was erotic and enticing and I would highly recommend it!

I'd just started reading the series and collected all of them to read back to back. As with all her stories, it's well written, believable characters, humor, and it held my interest. When I finished I was excitedly looking forward to starting the next story. I only wished this story had been a bit longer......

I wasn't expecting to like this installment in the series, mostly because Zarek is not the most charming of Dark-Hunters. I was pleasantly surprised! I ended up like this quite a bit, despite Zarek's surliness. It helps if it hasn't been too long since you read Night Embrace (Talon's story), because there's a lot of reference to Zarek's part in that book. There were a few things that didn't make sense to me in this, not the least of which was the story behind Astrid's blindness. She's supposed to lose her sight while she's judging someone, yet she can use her "companion", Sasha, to see. Isn't that cheating? Regardless, this troublesome little detail isn't enough to get in the way of the true purpose of the story, which is to tell a love story about the gods.

I must preface by saying that this is the firs of Ms. Kenyon's works I've read; I picked up a free copy at a convention for kicks, and it turned out to be just about what I expected: the literary equivalent of a Twinkie with sprinkles; good fun, but not much quality. The characters and plot are predictable, even for someone who's not read any of her other works--will the fiery redhead manage to melt the icy, wounded heart of the uptight nobleman and introduce him to his wild side (or at least hers)? Will he struggle with great confustion over his attraction to her? Will her family hating him cause friction, but eventually be resolved so they can be together? This book kept my attention and I never read so that's very hard to do. It kept me up all night reading it and not being able to put it down.

I love Bride and Vane. He is so completely clueless about how to get on in human society and she is completley unaware that there is anything but humans around, kind of funny because she hangs around with Tabitha and her family but oh well. I think the roamnce is great and that Bride really grows as a person throughout the book. I love the whole series and have raed everything that Ms. Kenyon has written but this will always be my favorite.
