If you bought the two graphic novels of the Sinestro Corps War storyline this is a good buy as well. It contains all of the side stories and origin stories told/retold during the aforementioned storyline. And it includes an encyclopedia of sorts of the Green Lantern universe. The Lanterns, their villains, the Guardians, pretty much all of it. But there is one problem. The side stories collected in this book are sort of chronological. They fit in with events of the larger storyline as it transpires, so it would have been best to have these stories put in the order they were released inside the two parts of the Sinestro Corps War graphic novels. The concept is fantastic. Let's have Marvel's best duke it out against DC's best. The artwork is outstanding as well. However, my biggest complaint is the same as many other readers; the battles are far too short. Plus, some of them end in some sense of confusion. It leaves the reader scratching their head thinking, "So how did he beat him?" or "You're kidding me. He won by doing that??" The Aquaman/Sub-Mariner battle is a perfect example of the latter. The storyline on how this happens gets a little out of control. I don't feel as if there was much thought put into how these two universes were brought together.

This is a great graphic novel that collects the four-issue mini-series from Dark Horse Comics. Darth Maul is my favorite character in the Star Wars Universe and it was great to read this mini-series since comic book collecting days are far behind me. I like his singular focus on his mission with an unflinching expectation of success. No remorse, no regrets, no survivors! The artwork is great and the story is a good adventure with Darth Maul right in the middle of another insidious plan of The Sith. Ironic isn't it that The Jedis greatest enemy could be so close to them without even the Jedi Masters' realizing it?

I won't deny that the Witchblade series isn't good, but unfortunately this collection leaves something to be desired. Now this is my first time buying a comic volume before and so I wasn't completely aware of what I might be getting into, however, I would think that when something is published as Volume 1 then it would consist of being Issues #1 - Issue #whatever. Sadly, only after I special ordered it and started to go through it, did I come to the unpleasant realization that this was not the case. In this volume, a new edition of the old volume 11 of Witchblade, we find Sara Pezzini transfered to work for the same unit in which Glasgow is working, and also we get to know of the origins of the Witchblade as the Curator is finally sharing some of his knowledge with us!!! The drawing is awesome, very improved and incredible, highly detailed; and the plot is superb.

This book contains a healthy dose of Stjepan Sejic's excellent art work as well as Ron Marz's consistently good writing. It also features a stitched binding, which is normally only seen in better quality hard cover books. This is the way trades should be done as it allows you to see the entire page as well as preventing any pages from falling out. This volume includes 9 issues as well as all the extra material and the upgraded binding for a retail price of only $17.99 which is a particularly good value. Hope to see more like this in the future.

I purchased this book and the pages started falling out as soon as I opened the cover. The replacement copies had the same problem. Top Cow is becoming notorious for its defective bindings from this cheap discount Chinese printer that they use. See the reviews for The Darkness, Volume 4 for more examples. This book has a great script from Ron Marz and fantastic artwork by Mike Choi and Adriana Melo. So if you want a pile of really nice loose pages and don't mind getting ripped off, buy this book.

Having first read Emerald Dawn, Emerald Dawn II, and The Road Back, I figured this story would be just as well-written. I found Emerald Twilight to be really weird compared to the previous titles. I know Hal Jordan suddenly snapped, but he seemed to over-react to the situation. Everything happened so fast. If there was more time taken to "accomplish" all of his tasks then I think I would have enjoyed it more. That being said, A New Dawn was very well-written and Kyle Rayner was a very interesting character to read about. I especially liked Superman's appearance with a mullet (quite humorous, indeed). Because of the cool idea of Emerald Twilight (but poorly executed) and the great execution of A New Dawn, I give it a fairly good rating.

My Husband actually likes these books and he is 40. He is a big fan of Star Wars (not to the point of collecting SW items) and likes to read most of the spin offs. He said that these books are written pretty good.
