This book gives the right approach to programming with J2EE tools. It explains when to use J2EE and when not to. It's not only useful for J2EE programming but also for non-J2EE enterprise projects as well. I STRONGLY recommend it. I have learnt so much from this book.

bought this book long back, kind of boarting book, its standard kind tricks has written there although you can try it, but its boaring too

By now a classic, this book eloquently expressed how the Corba component design committees came up with an EJB specification that was not an ideal cornerstone for all J(2)EE applications. Although very fit for selected purposes the early EJB specs had to evolve to EJB 3 to really leverage the power of Java. Fundamentals of component based flexibility often lost on OO design are explained well, regardless of whether one decides to use Spring the alleviate the risks around it.

Great book. Started with a brief history of VietNam and the impending conflict. It then spoke of his bombing of the North, his capture and the 7 years he was captive. I was rivited to this book. He does not speak like a polititian but of someone with first hand knowledge. Even though at the time he was oblivious to much of what was going on in the world this book interweaves all that was actually happening. It does it very well. This point also points out in detail the absolute human failures of communism. I appreciated that extra detail. When the time came for him to come home I could not put the book down. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to learn a first hand account of what a hero does under the worst of circumstances.

I thought to learn JSP just by reading this book. I read several review comments on this book and other books. Fairly thougt to buy this one on hope of better explanation. Though I am new to JSP, but working on programming for 13 years. 1. I did not get a streamline explanation to start the first program. Someplaces exaplanation is too much, I was lost. 2. Explanation on Tomcat installation won't be helpful because of older versions. Those have already known JSP TAG, Bean etc. it may be helpful for them. But purely it is not for beginners.
