Vaccines are such an issue these days. I loved that this book really talked about the pros and cons of each vaccine but it was a bit overwhelming. In the end I felt like I really didn't know what to do. I like the educational value of this book, but be prepared!

The Baby Book is the perfect gift for a first-time mom, pregnant friend, or any new family. It is written with a light, gentle and positive tone, but is eye-opening at the same time. On the surface, it seems to be a "baby guide" like so many others on the market, but The Baby Book is different.

Dr. Sears and his family coined the term "Attachment Parenting," which is a philosophy of parenting that embraces instinctual bonding behaviors like breastfeeding, babywearing and cosleeping. If these terms are foreign or even off-putting to you, that's okay. The Baby Book contains all the fun facts to prepare and guide moms and dads with new babies. It just adds another dimension, empowering parents to care for their children with respect, and encouraging them to develop a deep relationship ... Read More

I bought this for my husband because it was a small, fairly quick reading book with good information. Not that he's a bad reader, or a poor reader. I just assumed most dads aren't so much into reading about parenting. He actually read and enjoyed it! And I was glad he did :) We also have the one for mothers...another great book!

I have recommended this book to countless parents I have encountered in person and on the web. It is full of gentle, commonsense tips to getting a good night's sleep, as well as negotiating the "politics" of family sleep. All of the information is backed by science, and it makes a compelling argument against some of the more hard-core approaches--commonly called "sleep training"--which are variations on the old "cry-it-out" method. Do your baby - and your sanity - a favor and ignore the advice that runs contrary to your best parenting tools--your instincts.

Unlike some other parenting philosophies and books on baby sleep, you can rest assured that any techniques you take away from this book will NOT be harmful to your child, in the short- or long-run. But, the beauty is that you do ... Read More

I was given this book and didn't know what to expect. I started reading and couldn't put it down because it was a reflection of our approach to eating - whole/real foods with a minimum amount of processed items. I agree that eating healthy is an INVESTMENT and a balancing act. It may cost more to buy wild fish and mostly organic food but if you look in the average shopper's cart the amount of processed/quick foods are really more costly to ones health (and sometimes more costly to the pocketbook too). I don't go as far as making protein smoothies for my 3 yr old but he eats what we eat and that includes "ethnic" food, spicy food, kale, lentils, whole grain bread, plus all the healthy stuff that most toddlers won't touch. We don't buy mac'n cheese, hot dogs, cereal bars (really just candy bars ... Read More

A very good guide to help with the challenges of having a preemie. Straight talk, but doesn't dwell on the negative.

It's always a pleasant experience and privilege to be able to hitchhike on someone else's experience. For example: I have all of Robert Collier's books. However, this resource contains the original 1926 version of The Secret of The Ages and is so rich in revelation that you simply lay the book down after reading from it and ponder, chew and muse upon what you've just read.

I could go on and on. Simply do yourself a tremendous favor and acquire this timeless resource.

May God bless the person who took the time and initiative to compile this volume of spiritual wealth.

Up to now I perused through the pages and read on some hot topics that are discussed in the field of political psychology today.
My intention, as a Masters student in Social Psychology, is to see if this book serves as a good basis for a possible Ph.D later on, as the university in the Netherlands where I'm currently studying does not present a similar course. This well written book has served as a good source of inspiration on which one would want to delve further in this interesting field. If there is anyone out there with similar interests, I would strongly advise you to get hold of this book. On the surface it looks intimidating and hard to wrestle through, but is written very comprehensively and is an easy and (very) intersting read.
