I thoroughly loved his first residential book "Houses." With the amount of work he has done I expected this book to focus on new work but many of the same projects and pictures from the first book were used in this one.

I guess this book had to be written, it is a series afterall, but it is digusting what kind of buildings were built. Having said that, this is an excellent book and it is scholarly and the images are first rate, but lord these are for the most part terrible buildings that just about ruined the iconic Manhattan skyline, I guess at least we should be glad Jackie O, saved Pan Am from tearing down the breathtaking Grand Central Station, unfortunitely the same cannot be said for Penn Station, I think what you come away with from this book is, greedy developers, awful Mayors and the sinsister Robert Moses, it's a wonder the Empire State Building and Chrysler Building were not torn down.

Books : New York 1880: Architecture and Urbanism in the Gilded Age (New York)
This book is the very definition of comprehensive, this book really hashes out beautiful Guilded Age New York. It is to be lamented that so many of these gorgeous buildings are no longer extant, but at least these wonderful archival images are available. As you walk around NYC today, you see glimpses of the grandeur that once pervaded the city, but this book conjures up the ghosts of an Age of unimaginable wealth and unparalled craftsmanship. High recommended to one and all.

I knew almost nothing about psychophysiology before reading this book. I first tried to learn the topic reading "Handbook of Psychophysiology" (Cacioppo, Tassinary, & Berntson) but it's very complicated and hard to understand for beginners. When I started to read "Electrophysiological Recording", the topics that seemed so complicated in the Cacioppo et al. book started to make sense finally.

This book is a great introductory book to physio because it starts with introducing the basic concepts and things that you need to know before you can understand recording techniques in physio. In addition, the chapters that explain various recording techniques were simple and easy to understand, yet comprehensive. Only downside to the book is that it doesn't include a chapter about hormones ... Read More

Warren & Wetmore was one of the most successful, busy architectural practices in the U.S. for the first thirty years of the 20th century, producing over three hundred public projects from the Grand Central Terminal to the Hotel Vanderbilt. The firm's blend of classical and French styles into American practices comes alive in THE ARCHITECTURE OF WARREN & WETMORE, the first study to examine the firm's creations as a whole. New color photos blend with historic black and white shots, drawings, and plans and are enhanced by a foreword by Robert A.M. Stern. Commentary tells us the best designs produced by the firm were private commissions, and chapters reveal these highlights. A 'must' for any college-level architectural studies collection.
