If you are in the firefighting profession, then I wouldn't hesitate to buy this book.

For me it was a good entertaining book but I didn't find that it was a page turner. I could easily go a few days without reading it and then read off a few chapters in one sitting.

This book doesn't buy into the hysteria of 9/11 conspiracy theories, and from what I've gathered reading the other reviews, most all of the bad reviews were from people who buy into that crap (in my humble opinion.).

It's a vey well researched and detailed book (maybe a little too much), but I do think that one will enjoy it if the topic seems interesting to you.

As a Vietnam veteran and a student of the war, I have read literally hundreds of books about every facet of the U.S. involvement there. This book is absolutely one of the very best I have read. I doubt that it was intended to make an anti-war statement, but as it lays open the emotions of both the pilots and their families back home, the reader can't help but wonder what was accomplished by all this suffering. This book should be required reading for every politician that has it in their hands to send future generations of American soldiers into harm's way.

TALES OF THE SHADOWMEN: GENTLEMEN OF THE NIGHT is a terrific follow up to last year's Volume 1. It continues in the tradition of combining the pulp heroes and villains from both English and French pulp fiction. It is a fun look at some wonderful characters who most American readers don't know, but should.

"Trauma" by Bill Cunningham offers a very unexpected combination of characters that works beautifully in this flash fiction piece. Bill takes an incident from the career of Fantomas, the sadistic French master villain, and shows us the unintended consequences for a young eyewitness.

"The Eye of Oran" is the follow up to Win Eckert's "The Vanishing Devil" which appeared in vol 1. The hero (a Doc Savage type named Francis Ardan) and villain (the Fu Manchu ... Read More
