Upper class slayer queen clash.

While Buffy stresses about the creepy Twilight (who looks like either Kobra Commander or Marvel's Eel, or a combination), along with her giant daughter, Giles has a plan.

An undercover mission for Faith as an English debutante of all things, to take out a rogue Slayer who want's Buffy's title.

While not as good as the first volume, Vaughan still does a pretty serviceable job. The artwork is a little shakier in this volume than in the first, I think.

This book is a must for chiropractors who's practice includes pediatric patients. It is a one stop source for everything I have needed in practice.

Books : Lonely Planet New Zealand
Just came back from a recent trip to New Zealand with the Lonely Planet in tow. My husband and I were very disappointed with the most recent version of the Lonely Planet. We found lots of errors - the LP recommended restaurants that no longer existed, recommended holiday parks that I wouldn't stick my big toe in, and were consistently wrong on pricing from the cable car in Wellington to ferry rides across the Cook Strait. I think you would be just as well off buying the old version. It seems to be the same. It seems the LP writers didn't do their homework this time around.

I would need to consult with the tribes mentioned in the earlier review to find out if the portrayal of Native Americans is accurate. Would they really have put someone down for feeding Eagles? I don't know.

But what bothers me the most is when it's time to go and the adults in the tribe just leave the boy behind. Everything I know of Native culture tells me that would have never happened. Native peoples value family above all else, they wouldn't abandon a child.

Do we ever read Pioneer stories where it's time to go and a child is off playing so they just hop back on the wagon and leave him (or her)? It just doesn't happen. And I think this is a fair analogy.

For this fact alone, I would not read it to Native children. Nor would I read it to non-Native children ... Read More

Dover editions provide the basic poetic texts without serious and extended commentary. In a sense there is an advantage in this as it encourages the reader to engage the text, and seek understanding through reading and rereading. But there is also a great disadvantage especially when it comes to complicated poetry like that of the Metaphysicals whose complex linking of diverse images , whose intellectual toughness requires explanation.
Nonetheless there is great poetry here at the usual Dover very reasonable price.
As for the Metaphysicals themselves Donne is of course at the center. But there is also great poetry from Herbert and Marvell. This is a poetry in which the heart is very much in the mind, and one must have a strong intellect to understand.

Vaughan's series of books on Valois Burgundy have long been a staple for anyone interested Burgundian history and culture. After a long stretch of being out of print, and very difficult to find, these new editions are sure to be welcomed by many historians. Added to Vaughan's work is a fantastic new introduction written for the 2002 edition by Malcolm Vale (another historian I would readily recommend).
While these works may be older, and more recent work has been done on Burgundy, Vaughan's scholarship is still first-rate. A must for the bookshelf of anyone interested in Valois Burgundy, or Northern Europe in the late 14th and 15th centuries.
