I really related to this story and the characters. It is so well written, nothing offensive, real language, from real people who have character. I was motived to finish the book, and felt very sad to have completed it. This book is a quick read, uplifting. I have sent it to several of my family and friends.

the gift is a great,wonderful read. i love all of his books,and for me this was not a let down.i look forward to each book he writes. his stories are always honest,based on human reactions and hurts.

This is an incredible children's book! It is one of my all-time favorite (top 5)! It is about the 'true gift - the gift of self'. I occasionally give this gift to someone who serves others selflessly. I have also given this book to each of my children and to many close friends. It is a must-have!

I never got this book. I am still researching if I paid for it or not. I also received an email for another used book that I ordered and did not get saying that I would receive a $4.00 refund. Never got it either. Not a fan.

Another book about some high maintenance chick and the guy who changes her. All right - so the beginning started out well (the beginning meaning the first two pages) and after that it all went down hill because of it's sugary sweet oh so cliche story. My friend thought I might like this story because I love stories about philanthropy. This is about an orphanage in Peru where a doctor (the guy who changes the high maintenance chic) provides for children who were abandoned. High maintenance chick (who was scorned by a runaway groom) arrives in Peru with a little coaxing from her friend. At first she does not like anything. The poor hotel that isn't exactly the Ritz, the food which isn't exactly a five star restaurant, the weather which isn't exactly Hawaii, but then of course everything changes when high maintenance ... It does not take any time at all to get into this book. People of all ages and moral value make up our world. The locket is a story that touches your heart and head at the same time. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves to read.
