I used this book for my tenth grade geometry class. At first glance it seems to have helpful examples and explanations, but the author actually only explains a few of the postulates and theorems. Many explanations towards the end of the book are very short or just not given as if the author grew lazy. It has plenty of practice problems, but little to no preparation for them. It was a blessing that i had the internet to help me otherwise i never would have passed. Hope that your teacher knows the course thoroughly, or else this class will be a nightmare for you.

It is a very good Math book for an high school student. Will highly recommended.

I've dipped in and out of this text, and it's been terrific. In particular, I found that the book's word problems worked well in a "Singapore Math" class for 4th and 5th graders. I've found that it's easy to track down copies of the corresponding Teacher's Edition if you know the ISBN number. My copy of the student edition has ISBN number: 0-395-98002-X. Copyrights listed are 1988, 1990, 1993, and 2000, although you don't need to worry about the dates. It's the ISBN number that matters. I have the corresponding Teacher's Edition, with copyrights 1988, 1990, 1993, and 2000. ISBN for the Teacher's edition: 0-395-63747-3. A pretty decent math book, but I only bought it because my school uses it and I wanted an extra copy to keep at home so I didn't have to lug it back and fourth w/ 8,000 other books a day. But it is lightweight, thanks to its lack of unnecessary graphics, and according to my math teachers, it's packed with problems, including extra practice. It has a good amount of examples.It also has a few random biographies of mathematicians and scientists that are interesting, but mostly pointless, and have little correlations to the sections. There are also small sections about math careers. Additionally, there are computer exercises for students with programming experience. Answers to odd problems are in the back, which is a major plus. ~A. Brown

The book is as advertized. However, the application it is needed for requires a solutions manual. After getting the book I am finding that locating a solutions manual is nearly impossible.

The book was exactly what I ordered for my son. Amazon.com is an easy and reliable source for books,videos,dvd's... This was my first experience buying items on Amazon.com. I ordered two other books for my son from other sellers and I found them all to be reliable as well. The books were exactly the way the explantaion read. I found the sellers to be very honest. I would use this site again. The only thing I was disappointed about was that the Algebra book could not be sent express mail. The other two book sellers offered regular and express mail. The Algebra book was only offered regular mail. In our situation we needed it ASAP.
