This book was extremely helpful when I was preparing for my child's annual IEP meeting. I was able to support all my requests for my child's education with the law and received all the support and services needed and appropriate for my child to succeed. It was a pleasant meeting because I was knowledgeable.

This is a great book for parents with special needs child to read. It is an easy read and breaks down and explains the law in a straightforward way. It has a lot of great hints about how to prepare for an IEP meeting and how the law works in each child's favor. I would also recommend reading the Wrightslaw: Special education Law, 2nd Edition.

The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) is more than just standardized testing. In this book, the Wrightslaw team leads a clear path through NCLB, explaining important aspects such as requirements for qualified staff, the ability for children to transfer from dangerous schools, and more. Although I started out skeptical of NCLB (and still have issues with standardized testing), reading this book showed me the positive sides of the act and how it can be a powerful tool for parents.

This book is awesome! If you have a child that receives special education services you NEED this book!! This book is full of the answers I have been looking for, for the last 4 years.I have read it twice and will read it again. This is an easy read it is broken down into 5 sections that everyone can understand. My favorite is section #3 The Parent as Expert. I used this section along with the others to get my son ESY services and 1:1 reading remediation. Here is my success story, thanks to the knowledge I gained from this book......
