I have read a lot of military books before, but this one is by far the best one I have ever read. Although I have been out of the Marine Corps for a number of years I felt as though I was right there living it with the best of the best. A very powerful book, not recommended for faint of heart individuals. It is about time an actual first hand account be put out for the people to read, and get the truth about what has been happening over in country.

What a fantastic, eye opening story! Not my usual read, as I am a single, white female, over 50. I had no idea these scenarios could be a reality. Once the stage was set in the book, I was truly entranced.

I enjoyed the action North put into this story. With his military back ground as suport, the realism and pace of the story was enjoyable. Read it in two evenings.

I normally do not read "war" books. When I saw this book I had to get it -- after a very good Marine friend told me a little about his tours in this war. I wanted to learn more since he never thought he did anything out of the ordinay - he was only doing his job as a Marine. I like how this book describes the men and women serving our country and the sacrifices they volunteer to make. I am very PROUD of our military. I would definitely recommend this book.

Col. North does a great job of intermixing strait facts of history with the first hand accounts of the men and women who were there. It really helps bring the historical facts to life. I think this should be required reading for WW2 history classes, and is great reading for any history buff. Added bonus- it comes with a great DVD.

These dual authors had a real story to tell but seemed to have some difficulty saying it clearly enough

i liked: the author's style was easy and pleasant to read; flowed smoothly. the opening of each chapter begins with a historical quote that is relevant to that chapter's prayer principle. these quotes alone were worth the price of the book. the author tells of his personal experiences, which were very interesting, to illustrate the principle discussed in each chapter. in addition, he also uses stories from other's lives and experiences. all of these stories are engaging, stirring, thought provoking, and relevant to the biblical value being discussed. and to give validity to the value portrayed in each of these stories and principles, the author frequently and consistently draws on bible passages. i disliked: i did not find any aspect of the book that i did not like.

If you know Jesus personally, this is an encouraging book to read. Before I read this, I had no idea there were Christian civilians who were living in Iraq when Saddam was in power. Very colorful pictures, with heart stirring words.

Not too bad of a book. Explains alot of the details in the Iran-contra affair and he explains his personal involvement in the Vietnam War.
