I am a child psychologist with expertise in how to effectively discipline children so that they can learn to be respectful, cooperative, and caring individuals. About ten years ago, I posted a review of this book, recommending that parents use other, more effective parenting approaches. I was contacted by Dr. Dobson's wife via email and she informed me that I was not a Christian because I had posted a critical review. This told me that I'd done the right thing, trying to steer parents toward a different, more respectful resource. For parents in search of a Christian parenting resource, I would suggest 1-2-3 Magic for Christian Parents. Parenting is no joke. It's really difficult and I wish all of you the best in finding the guidance that you and your children need.

Much needed. I took a course (with no handouts). This book not only refreshed the memory and is a great reference, but also gave me some new tips.

The index is not useful. Very difficult if not impossible to find topics of interest. The chapters contain a lot of material that is meaningless to the technical subject. My guess is that the book size could be cut in half to 1.5 inches thick from 3 inches. An electronic copy of the book would be handy. I did try to access the "online version" and it seemed like I was being asked to pay for each chapter that I accessed. I gave up. Cliff Milliken

a very informative treatise on an "Old World" art that few know how to do in todays industrialized and technological society. Remarkable, Very easy to read and follow. Will become your reference when need arises!

Thirty years later, the existence of spirits who have not crossed over may not be generally accepted, but a wide majority would not discount it as B.S., like Frank Borman, President of Eastern Airlines. Who wouldn't want a flight engineer like Don Repo doing a preflight check of their plane to make sure there were no problems? I wouldn't consider that a frightening experience; I'd welcome it! The book is well written and hard to put down. It is one of the best books on "ghosts" I have read. Can they prove the encounters? As usual, eye witness accounts are discounted because there is no empirical "hard" evidence.

This is a very in-depth and technical book on the early social development of dogs and the effects of socialization and training. It is a very good book for anyone who is serious about breeding dogs.

I read this book years ago when it first came out since I lived in suburban Detroit. I am now a nuclear physicist and know that this book is GARBAGE. We came NO WHERE near losing Detroit. A previous reviewer is just plain wrong to say that if a little bit melts the rest is not far behind, and there goes Detroit. Nuclear reactors can NOT explode; and Fermi 1 contained ALL radioactivity. Detroit was NEVER in any danger.
