Purchased this book for a photo class I'm taking at our local Jr. College. The book is very informative. I highly recommend this book for the biginner photographer. It gives lots of information on basic camera operation and photo taking and developing.

Much as the first volume of Marvel Two-In-One, these are fun stories to read, but you're not going to feel the need to read them over and over again. The Thing is an entertaining character, but his team-ups are hard to imagine at times. At least there are multi-issue storylines with this volume, but there are also some one-shot stinkers, such as battles with the Hulk and Moon Knight. The best issue is #50, created by the great John Byrne, where Ben goes back in time and fights himself shortly after he became the Thing.

The essays are mostly a retelling of the history of open source software. I find it curious how much was written about Netscape, an enterprise that ultimately failed. With hindsight I would say that converting to open source is not a remedy for a poor business model. Poor, as used here, is not an absolute measure. Netscape was simply destroyed by a fierce competitor. Maybe the time was not yet ripe for open source software. I found Tim O'Reily's concept of infoware to be very interesting. Today I would call them web applications as opposed to desktop applications not only because they are served from a web-server but also because they use the vast resources available on the web. First of all. I enjoyed the animted Hellboy movies the Sword of Storms and Blood and Iron. If you haven't perchased any of the Hellboy Animated TPBs before, don't expect them to be anything like the animated movies. I bought my daughter The Black Wedding and The Judgment Bell expecting these to be be more age appropriate (13)than the Hellboy or B.P.R.D. graphic novels. She thinks they are okay, I can't stand them. The artwork is horrible! who drew this stuff? Kids die in The Judgment Bell. Thats real age appropriate. Oh yeah, and the books fall apart-right after you open 'em-the first time. The only redeeming thing about the books? In doing some research for a project I was working on, I acquired this book. I found it had all of the information I needed on using a view camera. The author covered the swings and tilts well and showed the advantages of using these cameras.

All right, now for a little "voice of reason" after a few five star reviews. Spectacular Spider-Man was always the "runner up" Spidey title and this volume showcases that well. Although it does focus more on Pete and his college teaching career, the supporting cast of characters are none of the familiars--Mary Jane, Flash Thompson, Liz Allen and the like. They are all relative unknowns who fell away into obscurity when this cycle of stories were over. Anybody out there remember Debra Whitman or Philip Chang? Didn't think so. The stories are also second tier with a gaggle of villains that border on the ridiculous. The Iguana. The Schizoid Man. The Vulture as a mob boss. Madame Belladonna, the fashion designer turned super villain who attacks with a deadly perfume gas (she is the main villain in 3 of these stories). ... Read More
