Is there really a James Patterson, or was he created by a computer too? "Sail" reads like a comic book. It is totally predictable. I can only imagine how this "book" was created. It appears to me that someone sat down at a computer with a grab bag of potential scripted happenings, pulled up a variety of them, and then wrote a "story" transitioning from one scripted event to another, sort of like panels in a comic strip. Sad to say, it appears Little, Brown and Company has "sold their soul," and is willing to crank out garbage to take advantage of a popular name. The story line is so trite! Don't waste your money on this bad joke of a book. Patterson must laugh all the way to the bank, assuming that there really is a Patterson!

I was very disppointed in Patterson's new series for Young Adults. The kids at our library liked the Maximum Ride series for the first couple of books, so I was waiting for Daniel X's series. The teens at our library read a much better caliber of writing than this book. There were very interesting story lines in the book, just no development. Perhaps a few less books by the author, and more effort put into the books he writes, would be wise.

This book is so similiar to the old movie, Michael, starring John Travolta as an angel, that it's a wonder the author isn't being sued. It's written on the fourth grade level and insulting to anyone who's ever read his earlier works, such as Along Came A Spider. When will James Patterson stop copying others merely to mass his books? He has a outstanding talent but seems to have lost it to commerialization. Sunday at Tiffany's is written solely for the purpose of selling books fast and offers no literary content.

In case you don't know, the Woman's Murder Club is made up of San Francisco Detective Lindsay Boxer, Assistant D.A. Yuki Castellano, Medical Examiner Claire Washburn and Reporter Cindy Thomas. In this one we have three story lines going at once, all interesting.

The book opens with wacko Fred Brinkley firing six shots at passengers on a ferry. Four people die and Murder Club Member Claire Washburn is wounded. Brinkley is quickly arrested, but is he sane, Yuki is going to try awfully darned hard to prove he is.

Meanwhile person or persons unknown are kidnapping rich kids and their nannies. The nannies turn up without a pulse, but the children are kept by the nefarious bad guys, who warn the families that their darlings will remain alive and unharmed as long as they don't go to the ... Read More

I have read over 20 James Patterson books and never have I sat there so dumbfounded at the end. Throughout the entire book, I was confused with the direction of this story. The end was not a true ending and left me with more questions that I had in the begining. I wouldn't waste my time on this book.

I loved all the Maximum Ride books. This one was a little contrived, more of a lesson on global warming with a short, wierd battle at the end. It is a credit to Patterson that he has developed such great characters, that I still loved to read about them.
