Hancock has done it again. His research is extensive and his writing is understandable and meticulous. You could differ with some of his conclusions, but the shear amount of research makes it worth reading even if you completely disagree with him, which I don't. This does answer the question "where does religion and where does our healing come from? As a long time scientific researcher into shamanism I have to say he has convinced me.

It is an interesting book, however, it can be difficult to follow and get a clear understanding of what the author is attempting to say. It can be very dry in a lot of places as well, not something that just captures you and wants you to continue reading.

Graham Hanock continues to blow my mind with his brilliant deductions, make you open up for possibilites outside the box. I had first heard about the mindblowing underwater monuments off the Japanese coast. I couldn't put the book down and three of my other family members were pulled into the earthshattering theories that truly make you rethink what exactly occurred in our very ancient past. I couldn't put it down and grew nearly intoxicated on all of the amazing possibilites those monument signfies. I recommen it you can keep an open mind this book will impress and inspire thought for you as wall

Sorry, but this book is incredibly repetitive....complaints about Hawass and his lack of "understanding woo-woo" in finding hidden rooms/buried treasure/buried religious rituals, complaints about calculations of the stars...chapter after chapter saying the same thing, particularly about Edgar Cayce's prophecy about the Sphinx.

(Spoiler) 10,500 B.C. was the "start" date of this civilization, according to the author.

Save your bucks....it's not worth the effort to plow through, and the photos are very old, nothing up-to-date.

For centuries, humanity has wondered about our near neighbour in the solar system. From authors to scientists to laymen, the planet Mars has long been a source of wonder and interest. Could there be life there? This book is one of the more recent attempts to argue for the prospects of life on Mars, albeit in the distant past. While this is not a great book in the classical sense- its themes hop around quite a bit, incorporating many seemingly unrelated ideas- it is an essential source of information that the mainstream has either tried to surpress for ages or just simply didn't know about- hence the indignation of some critics of the work.
What makes it credible for me is the authors' incorporation of scientific data and geometric measurements that lend credence to their claims of a global catastrophe on Mars ... Read More

Disclosure time- I work in the aid industry.

While I agree with much of what Hancock has to say (see below), this book is somewhat one-sided. Aid can reasonably claim a share in some positive world developments, such as rising life expectancy rates, decreased infant mortality, increase in primary education and literacy, growth in per capita GDP, and others. Undoubtedly, success has been patchy, and some areas, such as Sub-Saharan Africa, are worse off than they were fifty years ago, before the advent of the international aid industry. But in detailing its extensive failures, one should not completely ignore its successes (even if they maybe much less than what the aid industry claims).

With all that being said, I think a book of this sort is a must read for all aid workers, to bring us face ... Read More

8.Heaven's Mirror: Quest for the Lost Civilization by: Graham Hancock
October 26, 1999
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Books : Heaven's Mirror: Quest for the Lost Civilization
This book is essentially a poor rehash of Fingerprints of the Gods with better pictures. If you are really interested in Hancock's theory of a common knowledge source for ancient civilizations, you will probably enjoy Fingerprints of the Gods better. However, the pictures and overall presentation of this book is far better. If you found Fingerprints too difficult to get through, but liked the premise, then perhaps this book would be a better choice for you.

Wow. Spellbinding, magnificent, beautiful. Let this pilgrim take you on a journey you'll never forget. There are places in this book I didn't even know existed. Now I feel like I've been there. Martin Gray is not only an impeccable photographer, he is a brilliant and gifted writer. I highly recommend it. I've also given it as a gift and several friends have commented on how they treasure it.

10.From the Ashes of Angels by: Andrew Collins

Books : From the Ashes of Angels
I am reading this book, for the past week and am at page 200. You can see where the author (Collins) is going. He is making all things heavinly as tangeable. I was just waiting for the punchline that he thinks these are Nordic Vikings.
He believes that these "Watchers" were just a highly evolved race of people who lived up in a mountain (Heaven) and descended down the mountians (plains of earth). If this is so, where did they come from? The Book of Enoch says that God told the Watchers he created them not to have wives and that reproducing was for man's benefit. Angels were men or male. Why would Enoch call these beings Angels if they were clearly men, white men or Chinese men? Enoch wasn't an idiot, he knew what a man was.
Collins did very little justice to the Book of Enoch and just quoted what would suit his beliefs negating the larger issues.
