When I ordered this book it was mainly for my 3 yr old grand-daughter.... the book was very informative.... BUT - it was very graphic for a 3 yr old and went into ALOT of detail on reproduction etc... the book said it was for pre-schoolers...
I think it was more appropriate for my 8 to 10 yr old grandchildren... and would suggest not shared while with mixed genders....

I researched a lot of books about this subject to use as a resource when the time was right to have a discussion with my 9 year-old daughter. This was an excellent book and was exactly the tool I needed to have a discussion about sexuality with my child. I love that the book sends the message that sex happens after "a man and woman fall in love and get married." I think the messages and the illustrations are perfect and I would recommend this book to anyone who knows this looming discussion is on the horizon.

Books : Becoming Real: Defeating the Stories We Tell Ourselves That Hold Us Back
Gail does an excellent job of explaining the lives we have created. Becoming Real is a between the eyes look at the relationships we have built - or not. Be ready to make a change when you read this book - otherwise you are wasting your time. And the title is appropriate, it is not until we are in our thirties that we realize how our upbringing shapes our relationships, choices and future.

Becoming Real is a good dose of what I consider, looking outside of the box. It gives you a true perspective of yourself and others so that an individual can begin to understand and relate to others at a higher level. It also provides answers to many questions one might have regarding the "work" and "home" you. I highly recommend this book to those that want to understand others as well as yourself.

Books : Anatomy of a Secret Life: The Psychology of Living a Lie
Although this "shrink" is sensitive and compassionate, it seems that in every scenario, after we examine the composite "secret keeper", it comes back that the separation scenario ( from parental control) or whatever in adolescent was messed up and hence the compulsive pathologies result. I am one who is interested in secrets and people's "hidden " life- what motivates this? I think there is a good reason for many people to keep secrets as one reviewer mentions- it's easier to tell a false story to keep busy bodies silent than to "come clean' to everyone in the vicinity. The book does raise questions , but answers are difficult to find-and that's no fault to the author. Life is messy and we're flawed I guess ?
