At gunpoint you couldn't force me to read the 9/11 Report. What Sid Jacobson and Ernie Colon have graphically done is truly innovative.
Not only does this graphic depiction tell the story, it is historically factual. It sets out all the findings, history, conjectures, failures and recommendations of the Commission.
We find out in exact detail the timing, training and execution of the terrorists in accomplishing their terrorist acts.
We look inside the four flights and simultaneously see what each one was doing all at the same time. Using the magic of graphics we follow all these flights at once.
Jacobson and Colon tell of the attacks in graphic clarity. They also show the history as outlined in the 9/11 Report leading to the United States not organizing ... Read More

I bought this book as a "collector" item for my 15 year old.
This is her favorite story and she wanted the original illustrations in the book. She was thrilled!

Jacobson and Colon's After 9/11 is supposed to be a continuation of their first graphic depiction of the 9/11 Report. These two works are not of the same genre. The 9/11 Report was indeed factual and told of the major aspects of the 9/11 Report written by that Committee.
After 9/11, represents Jacobson and Colon telling us of life in the World after 9/11. This work, in which much of it I do agree with, is a look at the World with an editorial slant.
The Authors bring up the valid points of no WMD and the fact of the Bush administration gathering false intelligence to substantiate the preemptive attack of Iraq. What was the purpose?
Jacobson and Colon have correctly identified how America got into this mess and how we ostracized our Allies. Most of this adaptation is done very well. ... Read More

This book collects issues #1-5 and #15-16 of Battlestar Galactica, originally published in single-issue form by Marvel Comics. Issues 1-5 cover the original miniseries and issues 15 and 16 are original stories. Although the artists renderings of the characters and some of the ships of the rag tag fugitive fleet didn't look much like the TV show I thought the comics were well done. I also noticed that a couple of the issues didn't seem to print as clearly as the others. I really enjoyed issue #15 that tells the story of Boomer and Jolly investigating a deep-space distress signal. During his investigation Boomer makes an interesting discovery that only he will ever know. The cover art by Gary Leach is excellent and in addition to the comics the book contains an introduction by Richard Hatch, some factoids about the ... Read More

I bought this mainly for the Sherlock Holmes story. It's a comic book version of "The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle". But you'll find some glaring changes from the original story written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. They changed the title to "The Mystery of the Blue Diamond". I guess they figured kids reading this wouldn't know what a carbuncle is. Or that kids wouldn't want to stop and look up the word in a dictionary. And they changed the name of Dr. John Watson to Dr. CHARLES Watson. What's up with that? Is it too much to ask to keep the characters' original names? And in the original story Holmes doesn't use one of his many disguises while solving this mystery. But in this comic book they have him disguised as a woman.

The artwork is okay, and it is colorful. I'd rate it three stars out of five.
