My husband and I went to New York for Labor Day Weekend and took this book with us everywhere we went. It had helpful information about restaurants and handy subway maps. Its only problem is its size. It's a little big. You couldn't put it in your pocket, but it fits all right into a large-ish purse.

Great book if you've never been to New York before. I found it extemely helpful in planning our trip with lots of advice and "secret" things I would never have seen or planned on. Has a lot about prices, places and pitfalls. The only thing I would have liked to see was some information on travel from the ports.

I was looking for a book to consider taking a trip to the Adirondacks. There are not many with just that topic. In the past I have used Frommer's travel books happily. I knew this would have good information. It was more than I wanted, covering the whole state which would require a lot of info on NYC, but it was worth my while to purchase.

This is one of those great little purchases that pays you back in ways that you wouldn't expect. The author delivers on all the usual tourist friendly fare, but as a local, he digs in deeper to give you places and events that few travelers might find on their own. The Met. Highlights Tour, a walk over the brooklyn bridge, Grimaldi's pizza, and the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, are just a handful of our new "must do's" that we'd never have found without this book. Highly recommended.

This is a great gift to a big brother. The big brother keeps telling the little brother to follow him in a lengthy game of follow the leader. The little brother keeps asking when it will be his turn to lead. Finally, the little brother walks away from the game. Only then, does the big brother give in and agree that he too can be the leader. My sons love this book and its one of my favorites to give.
