After reading this book my kid who is just five can explain all about rainbow.Which color is on the top of rainbow and which one is at the bottom .What makes rainbow?,how many colors is in it?,What is the shape of rainbow?Where and when can we see itwhy can't we touch it,How does a white sunlight makes a rainbow.They got their questions answered by this book.They got introduction about prism,color wheel.Now they know why orange lies in between red and yellow and green lies in between yellow and blue.Basically it is a perfect book for a kid who wants to know all about rainbow.

The crisp pictures and simple language were just what I was looking for to teach my children about fall. This little book hit all the main attributes of the fall season and was enjoyed as much by my two year old as my four year old.

I was not impressed with this book. I had planned to use this in my classroom to introduce the phases of the moon. It is very small and lacks in-depth knowledge. Instead I bought and used "The Moon Book."

I just love this book and the entire series of "Rookie Read About" books by Allan Fowler. Thoughtful and simple explanations, and great photos. I started reading this book to my two year old son, and though it was a little early for him, he understood a surprising amount of it. He's still enjoying and learning from it at 3... gives us lots of things to talk about as he explores the world. His little friends enjoy these books too when I read to them. The series is probably best for children between 3 and 6.

This is another great Rookie Reader! Many of my students with lack of prior educational experiences and who are learning English are from this amazing continent. It is nice that Rookie Readers provide these continent books for students who are early readers.

We bought the entire set of these books for our daughter ( who was five at the time) and she loves them. They are great for young learners and offer benefits for both early reading skills and gaining an interest in the world. I was expecting them to be larger, but was disappointed to see how thin they were when they arrived. However, I have been pleasantly surprised by them since then. They are small and not so much reference books as brief introductions to the various continents. We read them a lot at bed time and it's amazing how much my daughter has learned from them. Between these books and the sheppard software web site she has a great head start in geography!

This book isn't exactly what I was looking for, but it's a great childrens book! Lots of pictures, in fact, I think there are probably more pictures than actual sentences. If you're looking for serious information on Australia, just stick to Frommers.

This book is like a brightly illustrated science report by a young student scientist. It shows simple magnets, with positive and negative poles, attracting and repelling. It shows what is attracted and repelled (metals, plastics, wood, etc.) It provides great re-inforcement or whrrat you child has learned or will learn by playing with real magnets. The book goes further, with identification of electro-magnets and where you might see them in use. It's simple and exciting and makes you (or your child) want to play with magnets!
