The Superyard XT is just what we needed. We already had gates on the stairs but our little one who recently found his new freedom that crawling allowed didn't want to stay in the living room and play with his toys any longer. All he wanted to do is explore. We actually have the Superyard stretched out and runs from the fireplace across the hallway to the stairs blocking off his access to a bathroom and kitchen. It stays stable with some small kinks at the joints so it's not in a straight line that he can't knock it down. It's high enough that he can't get over but low enough for a teenager and above to step over.

I bought the right ones and inexpensive... Keep in mind that the gate does not have swing door. If I was shorter than 5'3", I could not cross over the gate. Other than that it was great buy.

The North States extension kit for their metal playard is awesome! It added enough space to our playard to make it comfortable for several little ones to play. It was easy to attach to the original kit, and this gate system in general is so easy to break down and transport. I highly recommend this if you have a large space to make off-limits or you would like to use it as we do, as a large playard.

I have several brand of gates of this sliding variety, and this is the only one where the 2 "sides" come apart from each other entirely. It's as if the metal brackets are not fitted correctly (or not the right size), because depending on how you slide the sides, the 2 pieces come completely off the track. This also happens if someone takes the gate down and stores it on its "side." It works fine and looks fine if you handle with care, but I would not purchase this particular brand again.

We bought this gate to go in front of our wood stove. It fits my hearth perfectly. It is big enough to go completely around it. As a play yard it is small. But the door works great and the metal is durable. Love it.

I bought this to keep my two ferrets bottled up in my living room. Since they can climb, jump, or find their way around a ton of obstacles this gate has been a lifesaver. I got two and they work perfectly as the ferrets have nothing to climb up due to the clear plastic panels. When the gates arrived one was broken but Amazon took care of my problem in a day! I got a new one and the cost of me sending back the broken item was refunded...in a day! Love the service I get from Amazon, and the gates are great too, I highly recommend for anyone with ferrets, or any other creature that likes to go places it shouldn't.

This gate is superbly made and has a feel of great quality. I agree with one of the other reviewers that you need to figure out how to configure the extensions for your opening, but the company's website and customer service will help you. My application was between two walls, both of which had oversize 3/4 inch baseboards. Therefore, the distance to be spanned at the top of the gate was a full 1 1/2 inches more than at the bottom. This gate is made to handle that variation easily and securely. As our new puppy's visitors come in, they always comment on the great quality of the gate. This may have been a good product, but the boxes arrived destroyed. Absilutely not the carriers fault. Amazon did such bad packing, there was no way it could have survived the trip. And since the delivery box was destroyed, it would cost me more to pay the local pack and ship to return the damaged extension and wait for replacement. Instead, I went to the local PetSmart and bought this product off the shelf from them. Should have done that in the first place and saved myself the hassle. The Amazon extension is headed to the trash.

This is a great, manuverable, lighweight baby gate. It is extra long for those longer than normal enterances. Affordable as well. I really like how easy it is to move back and forth, use it or leave it open....it's great!

I needed a gate for our new puppy, and I was tired of stepping over the old one, this one is perfect, it opens both ways, and I can keep it open during the day. Nice looking and well built.
