My daughter loves it the moment she got hands on it. She now likes holding it before she gets to sleep. I like the timer function which just shuts itself in about 15mins. The material looks very durable, it is like a hard (a bit rubbery) plastic. It has also the rainbow mode where it cycles through the different color. I was ready to order more as a christmas presents but saw Amazon has 4-7 wks leadtime now.

I LOVE this product!!! My daughter has been afraid of the dark as long as I can remember. What I love is that this can go with us anywhere. It has been wonderful on vacations, grandparents stays, car rides, hospital stays; basically anywhere dark. We use the yellow, which I think casts a very natural light. She sleeps with it at her head every night. It's become my standard baby shower gift and I get many kudos from new mom's that don't want to turn on the light at night, but want enough light to attend to their baby. Only complaint, after two years of excessive use, it doesn't stay lit as long. But we still get a good 8 hours out of it every night. Just remember to recharge it immediately each morning.

I only used the monitor 5 days... and monitor doesn't work everday [just some time]!

I got this thermometer when my son was a month old. It was great; I loved it. But then this past week my son was sick and I was using it. I knew it wasn't right because it said my son was 99.4, but he felt ALOT hotter than that. I got him into the clinic and packed my thermometer with me. When I got to the clinic he was 104.5. I used mine again right after the nurse left the room and it read 99.3. NOT GOOD! My son ended up in the hospital and I think we could have caught it sooner if this darn thing had worked. I'm gonna try to find something else that is hopefully reliable.

I'm not fully impressed with this product. For the money spent I expected better quality. Nighttime picture quality is fuzzy, though daytime is very clear. Batteries don't last long. Back clip broke off easily and now I have to prop up the monitor with something else to view. At night it puts off quite a bit of light so I wouldn't recommend it if you need complete darkness to sleep.

We originally purchased this light to check on our first child when he was sleeping. It allowed us to enter his room when he was fussing and re-insert his pacifier without having to grope madly around in the crib. It has also allowed us to do middle of the night feedings without flipping on the main light. Our son is now 23 months and we now use the Tyke Light as a nightlight. Our son loves it and we have purchased a second for our second child. We've recommended this product to one friend who also uses the light for middle of the night feedings. WARNING: we gave this light to another friend's toddler and my friend gave the toddler the light for bedtime. I bought this for communication with my mother who needs help walking and with most of her activities. Walkie talkies didn't work because she would forget what she had to do to communicate from her end. With this unit, for her, it's totally hands free. I can place her unit anywhere she is and take the "parent" unit wherever I am. If she needs something, all she needs to do is speak. If I want to talk with her, I just press the talk button. Transmissions are clear and static-free. So far, it's worked flawlessly. We live in a large, fourteen room house and the units work everywhere and at the greatest distance. We needed a good replacement nightlight for my triplet toddlers when their original was broken. Toddlers are the epitome of detesting change, but they love "Buddy." I love not having a cord in their room, and buddy is great for traveling. Just turn him off when you pack your bags! He is safe for them to handle. It's all it promises to be, although it glows more red than orange.
