I purchased two of these. They are 100% cotton but the weave/material is thin and delicate. These will not last long with a book bag hanging over my shoulders. It seems the weave is already showing signs of wear after the first two outings. Little thread tags are showing in different spots. However the style was what I was looking for. I have yet to wash one yet, but I will take extreme care so as not to damage it. This style would be perfect if it was a much thicker weave. I use my sweaters day in and day out and put them through heavy use. My last sweater like this was purchased in Europe and was made out of 100% cotton as well, but was much more durable.

These sweaters are soft,breathable and comfortable. They wash very well,the colors don't fade and I've had no shrinkage in my experience.I've had mine for a couple of years and it still looks brand new. If you like natural fibers and durability,this is the perfect everyday sweater for you. I can wear wool if I have a long sleeved,cotton shirt with a collar,otherwise my skin gets scratchy. I recommend this shirt to any guy looking for an easy to wash and wear casual sweater.

I purchased this sweater thinking I had got myself a bargain, however, once I saw how expensive the delivery charge was, it turned a bargain into an OK buy. Putting it into persepective: I bought three sweaters from three different sellers on Amazon, the first charged $2+ change for delivery, the second $6+change for delivery. Jos A Banks charged well over $10 for delivery. I will not be purchasing anything online from Jos A Banks again as I cannot fathom how they can justify the delivery charges!!!!!! Now to the Sweater. It is very smart and I am looking forward to wearing it during the winter. I just hope it lasts to justify the price I paid...
