I've bought two pair so far. I use them for trail running and some running on pavement, but not for everyday wear. I once accidentally took two different socks with me when walking a trail...this was a real eye-opener, and I advise anyone who does a lot of running or walking to try this sometime. The Thorlo was clearly more comfortable on downhill segments, which are more stressful in trail running. Also, they are offered in an extra large size for us big guys, and this also makes them more comfortable for me. I have washed these a few times and not seen the pilling mentioned elsewhere yet. Our daughters have worn a similar Thorlo in the past, and they do pill eventually. But I'm not a fashion plate when running and this is not a big issue for me. Five stars.

I've been buying Gold Toe dress socks for a while and I also now buy Gold Toe athletic socks for the same reason. They last longer than the others and retain their shape better too. These Nassau style Gold Toe are my preferred black dress sock as they are a nice blend of fabric. Feel good, stay up on the calf (the elastic last long), and last a long time. I recommend this product.

Been buying Hanes Over the Calf for years. Best sock of this style. Don't buy this specific style, they're real thin. BUY THIS: Hanes Over the Calf Tube Sock 6 Pack - hmp180 ASIN: B000CD116M They are the better ones.

Organic Cotton Crew Sock I love the socks, great colors, very soft and comfortable. I call the tie-dyes my "happy socks" and I wear them especially when a day threatens to be gloomy. They are great cheer-up gifts, too! My only complaint is that the natural-color ones developed holes after a few months. These are too expensive for me to replace them too often. Otherwise, they're the best socks available.

I bought this set from Macy's approximately four months ago, I only have to wear dress socks a few times a weeks, so they worked out perfectly. They feel great, as good as any dress socks I've owned, and they aren't paper thin. That said, I did get a small tear in one of the socks near the toe. Presumably it caught on my toenail, and it tore into a larger hole fairly quickly. I'll be back for more though, the comfort is easily worth it.

These socks have a nice amount of cushioning on the heel and toe. More importantly, my feet stay dry and comfortable. In comparison, I have trouble with standard cotton socks, which become damp and uncomfortable during heavy exercise.
