I wanted thin so that was fine but they seem to strech thin, if you know what I mean. Like the weave is too loose or something. But they are comfy and fit my swollen legs well so that was my primary concern.

I have been a Smartwool sock wearer for a few years now and highly recommend the Smartwool Hiker as a comfortable, durable, and excellent sock. After several years of trying various wool socks I was a big fan of wool rag socks, and somewhat hesitantly tried a pair of Smartwool socks that were given to me as a gift. I was quickly hooked. These socks perform better for keeping feet dry than any other socks I have tried. The merino wool that they are made with is extremely comfortable. They also wear very well. With a little laundry care, the Smartwool socks I have used have lasted longer than any other socks I have tried, and remain comfortable throughout their lifespan. They may be a bit more expensive than other brands, but if you are particular about your socks they are worth every bit.

I was a little skeptical about buying these socks after reading some of the reviews but I thought why not, I'd give them a shot. My 5 year old daughter is INCREDIBLY picky when it comes to socks to the point where I can rarely get her to wear them. If I do, it is after I mess around for a half hour to get the seam just in the right place to where she can't feel it. So I got the socks and found out that these socks do have seams- but they are smoother than regular socks. My daughter immediately noticed the seams and I had to convince her to try them on. I held my breath and the first thing she said was, 'MOM! I can't feel them!' I was thrilled. Two weeks 5 National Parks, these socks held up and are still like new. They are easy to clean and dry on the trail, wick well and give very good cushioning. They are as good as Smart Wool but at a better price.

I bought these while in Iraq and they were waiting for me when I got home. I just love my toe socks. Now that it is cold I wear them all the time around the house. They are long, so I also wear them with my boots. The colors are nice, (I have the purple-maroon-black, purple-pink-black, grey-pink-black, and green-pink-black pairs). They are still soft and the colors are still vibrant after a year now. I wash them with my sweaters in warm water, in a value brand detergent and snuggles fabric softener. These are perfect for adults and children.
