trying to buy for 8 grandchildren this year had me flustered. we always try to be fair and spend the same amount on each but yet we don't want them to be jealous of what some one else got. so last year we got thm all sleeping bags and matching pj's. this year we decided to get them all backpacks with their favorite style and matching hats, then we will fill the bags with goodies insted of stockings. thought it would be easier and so far it has. the item I ordered was exactly like they descibed, and delivered in a timely manner although the postman wasn't happy having to deliver around 16 pkgs in a 10 day span! I've owned a T3 Tilley for about 15 years. I once wore mine while taking a kayaking lesson in a shallow lake in Florida. In a brief moment of inattention, I flipped the kayak and stayed in it for a while trying to decide if I should try an "Eskimo roll." Meanwhile my hat had floated to the surface. I finally decided to just get out of the kayak and swim the surface. I'm sure the instructor was about to dive in and get me during the 45 seconds between my hat surfacing and me dawdling. The hat not only floated, it kept my id and keys dry. It is great for smushing in a carry-on bag and washes easily, as long as you remember to stretch it out as it is drying. I'm thinking about buying the mesh version as it looks like it will keep my bald pate cooler.

The seller was courteous and prompt, and when I suggested that the shipping cost was too high, they graciously lowered it. However, the balaclavas I received were not silk. The tag on the inside clearly stated that they were 100% cotton. Perhaps I was shipped the wrong item, but sellers shouldn't misrepresent products like that. If I'd complained to the seller, I feel confident that they would have refunded my money, but these were for halloween costumes (which turned out just fine), so I didn't have time to deal with returns and such.
