The 992 is a tremendous shoe. It is basically the top-of-the-line NB sneaker ever since they phased out the 2001s. This shoe is extremely comfortable and fits like a glove. The cushioning is unmatched. The quality is outstanding. I just ordered my 2nd pair because this shoe is being discontinued by NB. If you appreciate good shoes, you will not be disappointed with this model.

Shoes are very lightweight, almost look too small. Very good for walking around the city, and the more subdued colors look good with casual wear. However, I'll have to agree with others that they're not really running shoes (much less trail running), and would probably not hold up long. Good for the urban hipster, not so much for the active athlete.

I've been in scouting for years and had some really crappy boots. I finally took the advice given in training and had someone who knew about boots check out my feet, my walk and all that. They recommended these boots (and the version before). I absolutely love them. They fit ME. I suggest if you are looking at these boots, check with someone who will fit YOU, then buy these if they are on your list. Worst case story on these boots: I wore them on an ATV outing in Mexico and was completely covered in mud. At the end of the trip, to clean off, I just walked into the ocean, boots and all to get the mud off. They smelled a little fishy after that but held up well. I probably should have soaked them in clean water after the salt water. Oh well. The price seemed a ... Read More

New Balance hit the nail on the head with these shoes. I ordered these as a work shoe because I'm on my feet for 12 hours a day. They have held up very well (2 months an hardly any signs of wear on the soles)and my feet no longer ache after a long week. Before buying these I would buy the $40.00 "off the shelf" New Balance shoes along with an arch insert and end up replacing them every 2-3 months. These are worthy right out of the box and seem to be long lasting. I'm very happy with this purchase.
