There is not much that I can say about this camera that hasn't already been said by others here on Amazon. What I will add is some personal perspective. I have been using point and shoot digital cameras for years. I bought an S2 IS three years ago because I wanted a nice digital without spending dSLR money. That camera served me well, but after three years it has started to limit my creativity. After much research, including the reviews by others here on Amazon, I decided to go with the EOS 40D. For me there was a toss-up between the XSi and the 40D, but what pushed me in the 40D direction was ultimately the size of the camera. I'm a big guy.
